Vudu Spice Shop

TYPE: Official Business

SLURL: Battle Street, Hathian

BACKGROUND: I would like to refocus the business on its core elements surrounding voodoo and dark magic. As some examples I would like to bring tarot readings, ritual magic and seances to the forefront along with potions, gris-gris and even hexes/curses. All of this is more RP dependent than many other businesses so I would like to have internal staff events where we can/train practice these types of RP, particular for new employees to help them gather experience and confidence. I'd like to run some public rituals (in the graveyard for example) and fetes (parties) as regular events as well as increasing the shops presence at other open events like carnivals and fairs where fortune telling and potion hawking would make sense. As a Voodoo priestess my character is particularly well suited to managing this sort of RP as it is core to her beliefs and central to nearly all elements of her RP.

UNIQUE: I want to deepen the roleplay around the Vudu Spice to form a hub for all dark magic/voodoo cultural play. This sort of establishment should have a reputation for the strange and should feel dangerous. Eventually I would like to expand into a faction based around Voodoo, sacrifice and dark magic, this would also tie into the illicit drugs and other illegal nature of some ingredients used in both potions and ritual magic. The shop should become subject to a good deal of suspicion and be subject to frequent police interest. I want to bring the darkness. I'd also like to try creating a "job board" listing substances/items the shop needs and would be willing to trade/pay for, so that others could interact with the shop by doing things like hunting frogs or rats, collecting hair, wax etc.

EXPERIENCE: I've been roleplaying around SL for well over a decade and longer than that IRL. I've managed factions and RP sims several times in the past and have lead project development teams in a professional capacity. I think I'm easy to approach OOC and tend to be a passionate advocate for others (sometimes a little too much so for my own good).

IDEAS: I want to have regular internal events within the business, some may take the guise of training, others as rituals or potion preparation etc. however the true purpose would be to get players (particularly new ones) involved and build up their confidence.

OTHER: So far as I know the shop is currently open, but using the BBQ equipment already outside the shop and closing the street to hold a fete, the public would be invited to come in ghoulish costume, potion brewing and tarot reading would be on hand as well as any street performers we can rustle up.
