Hathian Motors

TYPE: Official Business

SLURL: Hathian Sim, Bourbon Street

BACKGROUND: As a leader and long term role player on sim, I’ve always seen the potential of various spots on sim that never quite get utilized like they should. When I see a place like Hathian Motors, I think of all the opportunity for dark RP and storylines that can originate from this spot. I am imagining drugs being run by placing them in car parts, tires, ETC. I am picturing the machinery being used to torture victims. I can imagine the junk yard being used to hide contraband. I see the motors as a perfect place to start storylines that can involve the greater sim from cops to criminals to citizens. That all being said, obviously we have to make the place look legit. We will hire a perfect balance of corrupt and non-corrupt citizens so as to seem like a good place to work. Maybe if approved, we can offer employment to some of the kids at Seaside or college students. Workers will not be punished for not being corrupt. They will be celebrated in that it helps hide the true nature of the garage. Sometimes the crime will be subtle. Sometimes not. Hiding it from the co-workers and citizens that will snitch to the cops will be part of the fun. As far as my character goes, he is brand new on my old old old James Matfield avatar. Liam is a young man looking to make his mark in Hathian. Moving into town after growing up in the backwaters, he doesn’t see the world quite like some. He tends to look for opportunities and is honing his craft as a con-artist. As a manager, he will want to find a way to balance a legit business as a front for whatever illegal activities that comes about. OF course, looking legit is important. Liam will hold regular events and sponsor the other events around town to keep appearances. Some event ideas I have includes: cash for clunkers. We will buy your clunkers (without checking to see if stolen or not maybe), strip them down and sell the parts for cash. (Should bring in some player consented car thefts hopefully), car shows or bike shows, and some more ideas could come as I get into this. I think it would be great if we could work in tow trucks or towing but that may not be feasible.

UNIQUE: Hathian Motors will probably not stand out if that makes sense. It will instead, hopefully blend right into the poverty stricken community around it. Yes, they appear legit and they will help you repair your car or whatever else. (May even try to expand to offering handyman services or prostitution if I can sort that part out.) However, this business will offer all the shady dealings other sim businesses offer such as drugs, crime, human trafficking and more. I’d love to see this place as a jumping off point for bigger plots involving the greater sim.

EXPERIENCE: I've been extremely Sim loyal. I started in CD in 2009 and have been here since then. I have previously ran Jimmies and the hospital (where I am most known I supposed.) I've been a story weaver and CM for the past year and love helping out others, guiding players and spinning plots.

IDEAS: Offering new players a place to work or a jumping off spot into stories is a big help. I'd love to see my business and others finding little plots to involve new players in. Anyone that signs up will be sort of either groomed or monitored depending on if they are corrupted or corruptible. The idea is to create a situation where players are welcome not to play dark if they want but they can turn dark if they choose.

OTHER: I will run an oil change special and free estimates grand opening theme. Of course, most players aren't going to drive their cars in but they will stop in to check out the place and meet the staff. I may throw out a grill and turn it into a meet and greet and grill.
