Comiquities

TYPE: Comic Book Store

BACKGROUND: I would like to continue the vision the former manager, Valentine Vile, had for the business. A consistent business for roleplayers to find roleplay in. Welcoming roleplayers from all 'walks of life'. Criminals, nerds, cops. This is essentially what we've already been doing with the store. New employees would be welcomed equally, there would not be a requirement to roleplay within the store. People are welcome to come and go as they like. I would like to make everyone, so not just employees, feel included. I want to name Amber Kaliani, another employee, as co-manager as well. She is online around the times I'm not, which should allow for a manager to be around at all times to help and assist new roleplayers or new employees. I have no intention of creating a gigantic re-opening event for people to attend to. I do however have the intention to continue with the same drive that Valentine had. I want to create regular D&D events (at least a monthly one) where characters get together and play D&D in the store. I would like to create trading card events. And comic book trade events. On top of that, it would be interesting to have employee host cosplay instruction classes and cosplay related events. On top of that, I would like to re-decorate the store like it was when Val decorated it so amazingly before his activity sadly had to decrease. It gave character to the entire store. A summary: I would like to create a place where everyone feels included, where criminal dealings can evolve, where the cops can still go to, where every nerdy character has a home and where people can interact.
UNIQUE: I don't think wanting to stand out from the others is a good way to think. I think every business has its merits and its flaws. I can only hope to make the business a viable and fun place for people to visit and interact with.
EXPERIENCE: My character still runs the Fiction & Fantasy club at the Columtreal University. I've not done much with that in years. I'm not good at telling people what to do. But I am really good at including people and planning something with them, most of this planning happens mostly ICly. I think Jade (my character) is really good at making people feel comfortable around her. And I like to resonate with that to a certain degree oocly as well.
IDEAS: I've had a lot of different new players in the store already in the past weeks and it's been fun to interact with them. They progress the store. Some come back, some don't. And that's all good. And I cannot and will not take credit for it myself. There's a lot of other regular players, including Amber, Val and others (even non-employees) who regularly return and roleplay in the store with new players or employees.
OTHER: As I said prior in this application, I don't plan to do a grand re-opening. That would feel weird from an in-character stand point.. as if my character would celebrate Val, who's a friend, stepping down. Instead, she would want to continue the ideaology that Val put out when he became manager. Events will come, of that I'm sure. Our characters (of all employees) have a lot planned in character. If they will be grand? That's up to everyone that's willing to participate! |
