perina mcginnissaidPlease give your feedback and suggestions for this business proposal (in a constructive manner!) for this proposer to review, respond to, and take into account should they go forward as the Lead! For more information on how proposals work: http://thecrackden.com/discuss/topic/group-and-business-proposals/ Comiquities TYPE: Official Business SLURL: Hathian sim, Battle Street BACKGROUND: Comiquities needs new life breathed into it. Andy would not only use the store as a drug front, but would also sell knockoffs and shoddy merchandise as name brands. This would allow for steady repeat customer RP and would generate conflict and resolution RP for anyone that shops at the store or works there. Andy is part of the King Street Bones and the store is on their turf so she would definitely use it to run drugs and launder money as well. As for regular events, seasonal comic-cons, cosplay contests, block parties for nerds, raffles and giveaways, maybe even 'small town comic/nerd celebrity' bookings like autographs, meet n greets etc. (this could be open to anyone looking to have that as part of their backstory or current RP storylines). But more than that, I'd like to work with people towards Comiquities hosting a short film festival of sorts. Like a contest where anyone can submit a super hero or horror short film etc., and then we could 'show them' at the Theatre during an event and let the community vote on which ones win, via the forums. This kind of event would be open to adults and minors, depending on the IC content of the films, so that would allow more people in the community to participate! To make new employees feel included Andy will have all employees working on commissions and not just salary, so they WANT to sell shoddy shit to customers. UNIQUE: Hiring someone to spin a sign/hand out fliers while dressed in cosplay or some ridiculous looking mascot outfit. Hiring people that have some measure of celebrity or success, hathian levels or washed up has beens or up and comers, and having them be the focal point for some events. Comiquities will also take trade ins and buy your own nerdy shit. Like game stop, but with less morals (which is hard) EXPERIENCE: I've actually worked in a comic shop and a game shop and I know a lot of nerdy shit so that helps! I'm in college and have been a TA and tutor for a long time. So I have experience helping new people and being patient and understanding. IDEAS: Each new hire will get a rundown of the store and a commission goal to reach during training. I plan to hold sales and advertise with annoying people handing out fliers aggressively and hire some mascot idiots to wear various outfits and aggressively direct people to the shop all over town. People are going to know the comic book store has a lot to offer, whether or not they want to LOL OTHER: Comiquities has been open for a heckin long time so I don't think I'd want to do a big fanfare moment here. But I would definitely encourage employees to dress up in mascot/nerd gear and canvas the entire town to drum up business. That'd be hilarious and fun. Can you imagine someone in a hotdog outfit handing out fliers trying to explain why they're a hot dog and working for a comic store. I think it will balance the comedy with the action and violence and grit of the city well. Regular event that would make this business stand out: LARP in the PARK. People can IC'ly join a LARP (live action roleplay) group at the store, and join one of two LARP factions (this is just IC through RP, not real factions or anything). Then there will be small weekly LARP quests to do around the city for credit at the store and 'points' for their larp team. Then there can be monthly or bimonthly (depending on my school schedule etc) where there's a big LARP event, and it'll take place in that awesome park that's not being used much. It can add a layer of complexity to anyone's RP storylines, and create some interesting conflicts and friendships both in LARP and in character's 'real' lives. |
