Berthier Street Bakery

TYPE: Official Business

BACKGROUND: I would lead the bakery in a more crime based direction and offer drugs with the baked goods. This would take shape in the form of weed laced brownies or offering "extra sugar" that is really cocaine. I would seek to work with local characters who are dealers in order to supply certain items for the shop. My character runs social services and would use the bakery for fund raising events and perhaps some tea party type things for any youth characters. I also would reach out to other businesses and see if they would like to work out deals between the bakery and whatever business they run. Grind- maybe a half off deal at each business if you buy from one. Buy a coffee at Grind and get half off cupcakes at the bakery? It's up to the respective leads of each business and IC interaction if that would happen, but I'd make the effort. Employees would get a bigger shot at activity because certain illegal baked goods could be delivered personally to the home or office of any character that ordered them.

UNIQUE: The bakery is one of the first businesses you see on sim, so I would use that to welcome new players who wandered in. Nick enjoys cheap labor, so he would seek out fresh faces to Hathian to come work for him. It would by no means by a fully criminal based bakery- people could come in and just snack and chat if they want- the criminal aspect would be a bit more discreet. We would offer weekly discounts and prizes for new recipes that citizens came up with. There's also the potential to do a story where everyone gets sick from tainted baked goods, but I'd look for other characters to join in on that fun.

EXPERIENCE: I ran the Hathian Theater in the past, and was very inclusive of others while doing so. I eventually passed it on to a hard working employee with no hassle. IC Nick is a bit of a loud mouth and a rather vile human being who has attacked a lot of other people and their businesses, not to mention caught the ire of HPD. I think that would hopefully lead to some steady activity at the bakery from those who hate him and want a chance to seek revenge, which I'd allow. I think the fact that I am OOC quite flexible and happy to collaborate would serve me well as lead.

IDEAS: I'd check the roster for new names and IM them to welcome them and tell them to come to me IC or OOC with any ideas or questions. I enjoy hearing other people's thoughts, and while Nick would be the IC manager, I'd take a more collaborative approach OOC. As I mentioned above, the bakery is at a location that could attract a lot of new players to CD and I think it's important that their first experience be a good one on at least an OOC level. Employees would be engaged, as described above, by making deliveries and Nick's general tendency to push work and responsibility on others IC.

OTHER: A fund raiser for Social Services. Nick would offer a baking competition- kind of like Hathian's Great Bake Off- and select three judges from the community to help pick a winner. The winner would get some type of prize like a years worth of free baked goods or something. Nick's an ass, so the fee baked goods would probably be crappy and stuff he failed to sell, but that's how I'd re-open it.
