Veiled Visions

BACKGROUND: Veiled Visions would be more than just a mystic's den. It would be the bridge connecting the past and the present, and a keeper of dark secrets. Rumor has it, the Disciples of Papa Samedi still linger in the shadows of Laveau along with the spirits he's trapped in the backwaters. Simone, a native of Laveau, has regularly visited her mentally ill mother in the broken town for years. Some say her mother was a psychic driven mad by her visions of the dead. The doctors believe she's just an old con gone crazy. Simone thinks differently. She "believes" (keyword being believes) her mother truly did have gifts and that those psychic abilities were handed down to her. It's not everyday you meet someone with psychic talents, so any employees would be embraced and made to feel like family. Simone would serve as a confidant, a friend, and an employer. OOCLY, employees would be given the option to interview for the job, and future outings to explore some of the backwaters most "rumored" haunts would be planned for those interested in participating. Regular events would include character-building tarot readings, group seances, and home and business' cleansings. It would also be fun to plan a November Festival of the Dead with other "spiritually guided" businesses like the Voodoo Shop in Hathian, as well as Backwater businesses who provide food, drink, and entertainment.

UNIQUE: Aside from a slight play on the supernatural, Veiled Visions would serve as a neutral place the 'big fish' could come to for advice or guidance. Employees would be asked to file away the secrets of Laveau's criminal underground for later using.

EXPERIENCE:I have been in and out of the CD and other roleplay sims since 2007 and have managed businesses in different sims under other accounts, including a produce place in Outbreak (Oh, I miss Outbreak). I have also been a manager in the real world as well.

IDEAS:New employees will be contacted oocly and asked if they would like to have an official interview. If they are unable, they will still be greeted with open arms by my character and questioned about their "abilities."

OTHER:Because it is a fortune-telling haven, I would love to have a grand re-opening -Honor Your Dead- party where guests could honor their dead family members by wearing something of theirs. Ex: a locket, a pocket watch, a suit, a dress, their daddy's favorite brad of bourbon. Characters could talk about their loved (or hated) ones while mingling with shop employees and other guests. Those who are interested would be given one-card tarot readings (to keep within the event time) by employees.
