phaera residentsaidYears ago, a toddler, little more than a baby, was discovered dirty, hungry and abandoned on the streets of Hathian. Her mother, in the throes of a psychotic break, left her there in hopes that she would be found and reunited with her father. What happened in the years between then and now is a story Nicky does not often tell, but here she is, 18 and back in the city of her birth, a place she has not really called home since she was 13 and still embroiled in the foster care system. Things did not start well for Nicky in Hathian as a newly minted adult. She captured the interest of a dangerous and deluded madman who wanted to experiment on her and operated on her brain. The resulting head trauma has left her mostly mute and largely incapable of creating new memories quickly. In order to remember something, she has to encounter and interact with it regularly. In addition, her brain is constantly producing oxycotin, the 'love hormone' which makes her generous to a fault, trusting, happy and naive. She holds a job at She Devils Salon doing hair, nails and make-up and also works at the Hope of Hathian - Animal Rescue in Vodou as a caretaker. On an OOC note, I've been playing this character for several years now from birth to 18 and it has been an adventure. Only some of that time has been spent in Hathian but now that she's full grown and able to fully participate I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens! |
