AnonymoussaidThank you to all who participated... hopefully this service provided a little bit of closure for those of us left behind in the aftermath... Rippen Dagger calls out to the crowd that is starting to form, "Thank you for coming, friends. We will begin shortly... " Harlowe Ashbourne moves up behind tanken quietly and wraps her arms around his waist , resting her chin on his left shoulder, taking in the small gathering . She wondered how he would handle this, and she squeezes him gently in support . Paulie Broek will lean up against the wooden railing looking out to the sea and glancing back to rippen at times. The man is here to celebrate his boss, his brother, his friends life. Mourning was a part of it but he wants to celebrate all the good that the man did for him and all the lessons he taught him. Tanken Darkstone stops briefly as he reaches the beach, eyes shielded by the blackness of his sunglasses moving from face to face. There were a lot of people present, and more than enough chances for something to go horribly wrong, nobody in this city had enough respect to not attack people at a funeral. He jumps a bit as Halo wraps her arms around him, but otherwise doesn't move, his neck craning towards her. He manages a faint smile at Halo, having a harder time concealing his feelings now that it was the day of the funeral. He gives her a nod before pulling away, his hand reaching out to grab her own and lace their fingers together as he starts towards his mother. Harlowe Ashbourne lets tank drag her farther into the crowd , slightly nervous in her own right , having still not even met his mother . Talk akward. She offers rippen a soft, but short smile , and moves in closer to tank , taking his one hand in both of hers and standing beside him quietly . Kate Pera walks up with her sister in tow, her gate almost hesitant. She did a quick scan as usual of the crowd before giving a respectful nod to Rippen and Peyote. She was probably over stepping department lines because it was gang affiliated but she'd known Lucas since he was a boy and Social charge of her sister. She had nothing but respect for the kid and the fact he was able to pull away from Parnell's influence. Rippen Dagger nods to all gathered, she glances over to Noelle and Peyote, a look of dread and pain would cross her features as she sighs deeply. She turns her face and looks to the crowd and begins to speak over the crash of the waves below..."Welcome friends, to this celebration of life. We dont come here today to mourn. We come here to day to remember the lives of our friends, Lucas Bender, Ashe Hudson Kuhn, and Levi Vaher." She stops, glancing over her shoulder again at the women by her side, "I would like to first introduce the wmen next to me... Peyote Bender, Lucas' wife... and Noelle Kuhn, Lucas' mother, and Ashe's sister." Paulie Broek will acknowledge his cousin with a nod of the head. Weary about acknowledging or even talking to Tanken, Paulie wants to keep the beef they are having a secret and between the family members only. Paulie also doesn’t want to bring any shame on this day of mourning and celebration of the great lives the fallen men lived. Paulie will stand strong as he awaits for someone to talk. The man will not acknowledge many here because most he doesn’t know or has never seen. Rippen Dagger would continue, "For those of you who dont know me, my name is Rippen Dagger Botha, all three men were my friends. This world lost so much, when they died. They lost fathers, brothers, sons, and husbands. But most of all, they lost friends." Faerie Lindley walks up next to her cousin, not saying a word. She was here for him, she watched the group gather knowing some of them, others she didn't. Just lisetning. Jaydenna Repine walks up next to Page silently, attempting to slip an arm around hers. Jayme had dressed up--just for Lucas--the kid was dead and he had had a crush on her since he was thirteen, showing up dressed like he would want her to was the least she could do. "Just start?" She whispers towards Page, eye's watering a bit. Roxanna Beck stood next to her sister feeling totally frazzled. The news about Lucas shook her deeply. She bit her nails as she considered leaving her job. He was her first case. She felt like her heart was being stomped on. Page Eames nods at Jayme, saying nothing- sitting in the distance and listening to what was being said. She shouldn't have been there really, but she remembered when Lucas was just a boy-- fetching mojitos for her and... shit.. she couldn't even think his name, much less speak it. She still pissed at P for what he had done. Rippen Dagger would sigh again, her hands begining to shake as she felt tears sting her eyes again, "Levi was a dedicated friend to me, I have known him a long time, many years, and he was alway willing to lend a hand. On the night he left us, he was at the scene of this devestating tragedy because he cared. For no other reason... he was not affiliated with any organization or crew... he simply.... cared. And for that, he lost his life. We honor him tonight, as a friend, as a brother. And I will take this moment to spread a few of his ashes into the sea, so that we might remember him with the changing of tides, the roar of the waves, and he might see the world from his existance, whatever that may be." Rippen would walk to the rail and reach into a small velvet bag, her hand would produce a small amount of what looks like white pebbles, and drop them into the sea below. She would turn then, and walk back to the group in somber silence. Parnell Urqhart palms sweated on his steering wheel as he turned into the parking lot down by the pier, he saw the crowd had allready gathered, he took a deep breath flicking his cigarette out the window of the car, checking his waist to make sure he was armed he opened the door his loafers scuffing on the gravel as he walked around the car to stand at the edge of the crowd, adjusting his cuffs as he stared at the crowd. He knew he was not welcome, but despite the trials and tribulations, Lucas was like a son to him. Kate Pera looked over at the sound of the car pulling up and her stomach dropped, a mixture of anger and hurt filling her as Parn got out of the car. She'd discreetly elbow her sister before turning her attention back to Rippen and the others. She had seen the evidence and even then it broke her heart to see him involved in any way, for her it was worse than finding out Lars had shared in the responsibility...he might have been her best friend but he had suddenly become a huge disappointment to her. Noelle Fisseux would step forward as Rippen returns, nodding to her with tears streaming down her face. The voice of the judge waivers a bit, the tears clouding her vision as she speaks softly. "Ashe was my brother. He was 26 years old, and a source of geat pride. Not only was he a kind man, he had recently secured a position at the lcal elementary school as Dean of Students." Noelle paused then, her eyes would close as her only living relative would walk up, and she would nod to Jake as he joined the group, "He was a dedicated Reaver, his love for his failiy nver waivering, he died with his best friend, Lucas. It is, as he would have wanted to go. We honor my brother in the same way we do Levi, Ashe loved the ocean." She walks to the railing and reaches into a similar velvet bag, throwing the small white stones over the edge, she would whisper, "I love you, Ashe... and I mis you so very much. Godspeed." Paulie Broek who listens to Rippen speak, will get distracted by the car that just has pulled up. The man he thought least likely to climb out of his hole for this event, Parn. Paulie doesn’t know what role Parn played in the attack on his brothers but he knows that the Aces are in an alliance with the Rejects so the scum probably at least knew about it. Trying to focus and tempted to yell get the fuck out to him, paulie will clench his fists as he listens. Blashpemy Augustus a solemn shadow of a man walks up to stand next to his wife taking her hand his grim face looks forward. Spying his sister Noelle up ahead the man walks forward then stops as he hears his baby brother eulagized. This wasn't to be, not Ashe, Ashe was the one who was going to be someone. His pure heart, idealism, raw talent. No this was never to have been and it has cripled the man. The others, his nephew and the man he never knew well that was that, it was war they knew what they were signing up for but No not his baby brother. Standing stoicly he is unaware of the tears rolling down his face. Page Eames sneered as soon as she saw Parnell. She wanted to walk straight up to him and unload her peice right in his face. Not here-- not now. Lucas- Lucas had looked up to Parnell like a boy would his father- desiring to please him and walk in his footsteps, and now Parnell had assisted in taking his life, the life of a man who was once, very long ago, like a child to her. She wrapped her arms around her legs and turned away from him, placing her head on her knees to hide the sadness in her eyes. Roxanna Beck comes out of her fog as Kate's elbow jabbed her. She glanced at her sister becoming concerned with the flush on her face. "You gonna be ok?" She asked in a whisper. Tanken Darkstone lifts a bandaged arm to wrap around Halo's shoulders as he watches his mother speak about Levi. He hadn't known the man at all, but the fact he was there that night spoke volumes of his character. He prays for him quietly in his head, something he almost never did. He shifts his covered orbs towards Noelle then, listening to her talk about Ashe. He closes his eyes as she begins to cry, her words bringing pangs to his chest. Ashe was one of the only men he could safely call his role model, a man he looked up to... they were so few and far inbetween... and now he was gone. He was gone, and for what? He takes a deep breath to keep himself from crying, his upper lip quirking into a sneer. "... God speed, Ashe." Kate Pera looked over at her sister and gave a nod, clearing her throat a little. Her sister didn't know and what Kate knew she couldn't tell. "Yea...I'll be fine." She tried to manage a small smile but it probably came out as more of a grimace. "Are you? You haven't really said anything about it since...well you know." She'd lean in to whisper. Parnell Urqhart walked over to the trunk of his car popping the lock and letting it lift open, inside was a small cooler, he opened it up to produce three things, an armband, a 40oz malt liqour bottle of St. Ides, and two ice cubes. He wandered slowly toward the center of the crowd, if able moving all the way to the railing. He ignored the group as if they weren't there. Tossing the armband over the railing, he then cracked open the 40 dumping it after it. He lifted his hand tossing the two ice cubes. "Take that ice up for the nicest, and please, tell my babies mother that I loved her..." He trailed off, a deep sigh as his shoulders sagged a bit. He viewed this event as his own personal failure in not being a big enough man to apologize to Lucas when he had wronged him. Peyote Baxton watches Noelle and Rippen pay homage to the fallen men, and swoons a bit on her feet as she sighs, sobs wracking her body. She steps forward upon Noelle’s return to the group and opens her mouth to speak. But nothing comes out. She coughs, then lifts her chin, her eyes staring into the sky as she speaks with an uncanny strength, “Lucas Bender Misfit was a man. Simply that. Imperfect, and unsure. He was a father, to my son. Every day, Garrett asks me, ‘Is daddy home yet?’ and I don’t know what to tell him.” She pauses, shaking her head as if to rid it of the thought. “Lucas was my husband, my first love, and my best friend. He was strong and kind, and he loved us very much. He touched many people in his life. I wont say he was a saint, none of us are. But..” she pauses, her voice cracking as another sob would shake her physique, “he was my hero. And he always will be. We honor his life today in the same way as his friend and his uncle…” She walks to the railing slowly, her eyes dropping to the velvet bag in her hand, and she tosses it over the side of the rail, before she would whisper, “I love you, baby… thank you for everything…” and would stand there alone, staring at the sea. Harlowe Ashbourne wraps her arms around tanks waist and looks to him with a slight frown on her lips . She hadent known any of the people that had been killed , but they were obviosly important to him , and it saddened her to sim him so upset by it . She glances over her shoulder as she hears a car pull up and is surprised to see parnell step out and start heading to the railing with what looked like a cooler . She couldnt see what he was doing , but watched him with a cocked eyebrow and a curios look. Hendrich Andel stands behind the crowd at the pier watching the service for one of the murder victims. He felt the mood here, the saddeness, the sorrow, the emptiness. His eyes shifted between the people standing at the pier. He was here to pay his respects and to make sure things run without any trouble. This was a day of mourning and he would let it run without any problems. Sure, he was a ball buster most of the time but he was also a man with feelings even though they rarely showed. His eyes move over his shoulders towards Sirus as he gives him a small nod. Roxanna Beck knew that Kate wasn't telling her the truth, but at this point she wasn't too concerned, her own selfishness took over. Rox took a deep breath and sighed as a few giant tears rolled down her cheeks. She swiped them away quickly and with a shaky whisper nodded saying "Yeah... I'm fine." without realizing she just told the same lie her sister had moments before. Malcolm Quintessa would observe the scene quietly.. .even though thats all he could really do now. After the incident, Malcolm had not been injured, not had a breakdown, nothing really 'happened'. He just stopped talking, even if he wanted to he couldn't, perhaps give an occasional grunt or groan. Glancing at a few faces he would not recognize the majority of them. Malcolm didn't really 'like' anyone, he tolerated people. Luke had been someone he could be horribly vicious to and not get shot at for it... AND... he let Malcolm shove firecrackers up Lex's arse. Rippen Dagger would nod after Pey, her heart breaking for the woman, and she would turn, "I would like to conclude this service by saying, I know we miss them, but remember them not how they died, but how they lived, and how they loved. ANd remember those of us that are left behind." She pauses and looks at her son, nodding slowly, "ALl three men will be buied in the cemetary in private ceremonies, at this time, our memorial is over, I invitge you to stay and share your stories of our friends, our brothers and our men... with each other. Thank you so much... " Rippen woul turn nd hug Noelle tightly, both women sobbing outwardly. Tanken Darkstone feels his eyes begining to cloud and fog with moisture as Peyote begins speaking about his uncle. He'd spent a lot of time recovering after his own injuries, and had held back the grief he felt for the losses of two of the most important people in his life for the sake of his Mother and his Gang. Now though, with everyone around, and the burden of loss so starkly apparent, he couldn't hold back the tears anymore. He swallows hard as warm beads of liquid begins streaming down past the rim of his dark sunglasses, and further down his cheeks. He feels his stomach knot up even further as he spots Parnell, he had some fucking nerve. His breathing begins to get shallower as he gets angrier, the outrage growing rapidly. He wouldn't give him the satisfaction of acknowledgement, not one hint of it. He turns to Halo slowly and gives her a gentle kiss on the side of the head before resting his forehead against the same spot. He'd let himself cry, this would be the only time he'd be able to shed tears for the man that had been like his father, and the man that had never given up on him, and proved to be the best mentor he'd ever had. Peyote Baxton turns and walks away, not looking at anyone as she passed, she just wanted to go home to her son, and finish packing. Harlowe Ashbourne's arms move up to wrap around tankens neck as he begins to cry against her face. She runs one hand into his hair , stroking it gently as his mother may have when he was younger. She says , nothing , just stands there holding him and letting him get everything out , fightin back the urge to cry herself . Page Eames lifted her head as she heard footsteps crosiing the dirt. She watched Parnell, trying so hard not to cry. She had been so proud of Lucas- he was- in her eyes, one of the best Rejects she and Parnell had the pleasure of knowing. He had drive, skill, and strength, and that was before he'd even turned 15. She still didn't really know why he'd left the gang, but she had an idea. The stubborness of egos. Standing up, she wiped her eyes and mumbled, "Say hi to the devil for me, kid, and make sure you stick that bat of yours straight up his ass." And then she walked away, standing tall and proud, yet hollow on the inside. Rippen Dagger releases Noelle and turns, her eyes falling on her grieving son, and for the first time since the tragedy occured, she would lose it. She steps before her son, tears streaming down her face, she whould whisper, "I am so sorry, baby..." and Rippen would then hate herself, hate the life that was thrust upon her kids, in the same way it was thrust on her. She covers her face with her hands, unable to look he son in the eye, and walk off slowly towards home. Noelle Fisseux releases Rippen and wipes her face softly with her tired, scarred and tattooed hands. She looks down a moment, then glances to her brother, nodding to him silently. He was an Ace. She didnt know what to say to him. So she held up her hand, in a fist, and pound it against her chest before thrusting it into the air. She looks down, then turns to walk off to help Peyote pack up their home for the move. Paulie Broek who has nothing to say to anyone at this point, will walk away. The man feels so heavily about what just happened. It was real. They were officially dead. It finally set in, in his mind. The past week, Paulie had trouble wrapping his mind around it but now he sees it for real. Unable to speak with Fae about anything, he will start to walk away saying to Fae softly. “later” Walking out into the distance to comtemplate all the thoughts buzzing through his mind at this very moment. What is the fate of the family? What will he do to make the family stronger? What kind of sacrifice will he pay the gang back with? Blashpemy Augustus takes the time to wipe his face his eyes fixated on the last of his family. No words could touch the grief they were feeling. It consumed his body wracking at his stomach as if being torn apart. From all the pain he had been given and all the pain he had dished out nothing felt as bad as this. Seing his sister sign to him he moves closer. How she would react to him he did not know. If she needed him to leave then he would but today the day they burried there brother and her son he needed to be with her. Walking up to her he once he gets there he would let go of his wifes hand letting out a raspy croak, "Sis" Tanken Darkstone fights the feeling he had in his chest, the fist that grabbed and squeezed his heart, and pulls his head away. He lifts one bandages arm to wipe his eyes, stifling a sob with a loud exhale. He straightens himself out, but doesn't pull his other arm away from Halo, not wanting to let go of his emotional crutch. His eyes lock on Noelle now, a lump building in his throat as he thinks of something, anything he could say to her to show him how sorry he was for what'd happened. He opens his mouth, but can't think of anything appropriate, anything that would do either of them justice, so he just gives the effort up altogether, turning to Halo now. "...I need to get out of here.." Harlowe Ashbourne nods to him silently , lifting her left hand to wipes the tears from under his eyes . "Where ever you want " she says to him softly , squeezing him gently again before taking his hand in hers. Noelle Fisseux stops in her tracks as Jake approaches. She catches a sob in her throat as he speaks her name and she turns, her eyes numb and tired. She looks down, unable to speak as she fights for composure, and her eyes would raise to her older brother before she fell into his chest, her body betraying her strength, and she cries openly, wailing again, the same way she did the night her husband died, the day her other children succumbed, and last week, when she found out her son was gone, along with her brother. Hali Hinkle would watch Jake approach his sister thru tear soaked eyes she would turn to go leaving them with each other and wishing the family nothing but the best of wishes during this tragic time. She too would miss Ashe's sweet ways and Lucas as stubborn as he was...it was truly a sad time in Hathian Tanken Darkstone sniffs loudly, bringing his arm up again to wipe the rest of the tears that managed to get past his unglasses. He clears his throat and nods, trying to regain his normal demeanor before speaking again. "..Anywhere.. Home.. I don't care.." He looks back to Noelle then, he couldn't imagine the pain she felt right now. He knew how it felt to lose an uncle, he didn't want to know how it felt to lose a son. He inhales deeply, calming down a bit more as he looks back to Halo, his fingers lacing her own as she takes his hand again. Blashpemy Augustus hold onto his sisters heaving body keeping her close to him his own tears would run down his face onto her. Looking onto the water where now most of his family rested the man will just hold onto her. There was nothing to say only grief. Only pain and hurt. Tomorow would be a new day and the man would make choices, decisions that would possibly impact them all. But today he just needed to hold his sister and live there grief. Kate Pera looked up from her thoughts and gave a nod. "Yea...let's go," she said softly. She just wanted to puke. Noelle Fisseux looks up at Jake and whispers through her tears, her legs buckling under her a bit as she wipes the tears from her eyes, "They are all gone now, Jake... its just us. I cant do this anymore. I cant... this fucking city, this fucking HELL has taken everything from me... My family, my whole fucking life... and left me here to suffer the torture of never knowing why. This senseless violence, the whole idea of the Reavers... to protect my family... and it didnt work. John and Ashe, Lucas... they died in VAIN! For what?!?! Drugs and whores? I cant..." She shakes her head, sobbing, "I cant do this anymore...." Blashpemy Augustus holds her close. Not daring to dispute the truth. Nothing left but what else was there. The man would simply hold the childless mother close to him. "We have each other" Keeping her close they will just stand untill she is ready to leave and walk the dark streets home. Noelle Fisseux nods, looking down at the ground, she whispers quietly, the first indication that maybe, just maybe, something was wrong in her head, she would murmur, "Jake... go home to your family. I cant... I cant leave my son. Its cold and dark out there. I dont want him to be... alone..." and she turns away, staggering towards the railing, she would lower herself down to the ground and sit quietly, rocking herself back and forth, lost in her own little world for the moment. And she would remain there, until Jake walked away, a mother sitting with her son, her only reason for living... now gone. Blashpemy Augustus respects Noeys wishes turns slowly and walks away. "Love you Sis, love you " Noelle Fisseux sat on the edge of the pier, looking out at the sea, the same sea she married John Misfit before, the same one her children would spend hours in, swimming and laughing. She same sea that she would return to, to scatter the ashes of her husband and children, her parents, her brother. The sea, Noelle would think... the endless body of water, it tasted like tears. She watched the sunset over the sea, remembering her brother and her son, and the man that just happened to want to help, and she wept. She wept for a city, doomed to continue the endless pattern of violence prone to the have nots. The miles of concrete, thick with pollution and grime. She wept for the endless string of mothers who would lose their children, of wives losing their husbands, of brothers... losing their sisters. Of people, losing their faith and hope. Noelle would sit there until dawn, watching the sea give birth to a new day as the sun rose and warmed her soul. She blinked heavily in the bright light, pressed her weathered hands to her eyes, and prayed... for this city. |
