Born into a life he had no say in, Mace’s father was the president of the Raiders MC, a 1%er motorcycle club that dealt primarily in black market “ghost guns”. He was born in a small town and inherited his place in the club when he was 16 years old; but was sheltered from all the illegal activity the club performed until he took a bullet to the chest in a drive by that killed his fiancée due to a deal gone south.

The grief pushed him deeper into the club life, and the true nature of the lifestyle that he was groomed to live from an early age revealed itself to him for the first time. Over the 3 years that passed since the shooting, he grew more adept at doing business, single handedly maintaining diplomacy between the MC and rival gangs in the area by advising his father and the MC leadership. Buried beneath the strictly business demeanor, there was a guilt induced violent rage that simmered, always threatening to boil over. The life he chose, the consequences of it, and any actions made by others that he did not deem moral would awaken that wrath, but the bloodshed he caused was always strategic and pinpoint, a scalpel as opposed to a Tommy gun.

An ATF raid on the clubhouse put the rest of his brothers behind bars for 20 years to life, and his father in the ground; the only casualty in the quick skirmish. Despite the Fed’s best efforts, no incriminating evidence was found to put Mason in a cell, and the rest of the club gladly lied and told them he was just a kid who wore their patch; a penance they performed willingly since his father had died. After getting cut loose, he found his Dad’s stash of cash, along with his old K-bar knife from his time in the Marine Corps.  Back pack full of cash, and his father’s knife on his hip he rode until his old panhead broke down, nearly 8 miles out of Hathian.

Mason is a man who consistently walks the tight rope of decency and criminality. A good man, a violent murderer, kind to the helpless, and the devil incarnate to those who wrong him. Will being in Hathian/Laveau break the tight rope for good? And if it does, what side will he land on?
