Tuesday, 21 February is the 2012 date for New Orleans Mardi Gras. Time for Hathian to join the fun!

I've been speaking with some of the RP leaders about CD's version of Mardi Gras. The current plan is to focus the celebrations on Bourbon Street (Hathian's red light zone, ranging from Lou's and the Clam at the top of the hill, all the way down to the Rub n Tug and Got Head store at the botttom of the hill, near the beach).

It will be an all-day RP event - simply a case of whenever you login that day, get your masks and outfits on and come on down to just RP with other revellers. However, we may decide to have a special time picked to focus on a particular RP event during the course of the day.
Some of the buildings (Rub n Tug etc) have balconies which would be ideal for bead throwing antics!

OOC, working on getting a poster done today, and spreading the word here on the forums, on twitter, and through ooc contacts inworld.

IC, Valmont will be running around to meet business owners to get their support for the event. All Bourbon Street premises (Lou's, Observer, Twister, Poison Apple, Rub n Tug, XXX, Got Head) will be encouraged to do up their store fronts! Will also be trying to round up support from other business owners.

I would suggest a truce from hostilities during Mardi Gras, with an "all welcome" approach in the spirit of Mardi Gras. RP is RP, and if individual scuffles break out, so be it, and if cops need to deal with individual troublemakers, all's fair in love and war. Would just be reluctant to have a gang or the HPD target the event wholescale - just to keep the spirit of the thing going.
Having said that, having the cops clear the streets at a selected curfew time such as midnight SLT, could make for good RP.
