Marcus arrived in Hathian recently on a cross country trip from his hometown of Boston that was destined to fail in the best/worst place possible.  Strapped for cash, Marcus quickly got to work trying to rebuild his funds and find a way to continue his journey.  He discovered quickly that Hathian was not a city like most he had been to.  Marcus is a good-natured kind person, but how long can he stay that way in Hathian?  How long can he maintain his soul before the darker parts of this town eat him alive?
