AnonymoussaidReading these forums, I've come across a few RPs which have been genuinely moving works of storytelling, pieces of work which really change how you feel or make you think in a completely different away. I thought it would be a fun exercise to have people post their links to examples of this, and in doing so, we can learn and develop our own RPs - not to copy, since we all need to develop our own styles but to admire and draw inspiration from. The first piece I would like to link to is Sera's moving letter in response to Chance's death; I challenge anyone to read that without getting a lump in their throat. It's spectacularly bleak and heartbroken, as indeed Sera is. On the same theme Chance's return to Hathian and Sera finding out about his drug addiction was a short but highly-emotionally driven scene which had not only visual images, but also evoked smells, tastes, and even texture. Fantastic work from both of them. The third piece is Ava Delacroix's diary Ava on the Alleys which is simultaneously ferocious, terrifying and utterly addictive. There's a very good reason that of the current diaries, it's by far and away the most popular. I'm sure there are many more examples you can link to or perhaps post. Please do and let's share our greatest experiences of RP in this wonderful medium. |
