valmont-marseillesaidSo, we get a lot of good ol' kidnapping RP in the Crack Den. Someone goes missing, they have become a house guest of someone nasty, police are doing the missing persons search etc. Usually a fun and character building experience. I'm kind of old school about these things - don't get involved unless directly asked to, don't metagame knowing locations or knowing where people are. Don't play 'white knight' and attempt a rescue without being asked to by the kidnapper and victim players etc. However, with twitter now being for better or worse a major part of CD RP, we have the new phenomenon of pictures of the often grisly scene being posted. This may include visual clues as to the location and well, things might spread beyond the original intentions of those involved in the plot. Other topics might include: how the victim is found - if the victim is lying in a public street, open RP for anyone to RP finding them? if a designated person is supposed to find them, keep this in a private RP spot? Etiquette for RP expectations from the victim - how many hours without agreed RP leads to an automatic break free clause? Feedback from HPD on how they deal with kidnapping RP, distinguishing IC info from other characters vs potentially metagaming info (even if accidentally received)? Anyway, I was thinking with the help of the forum community and the admins, maybe it would be a good idea to script some tips and recommendations for kidnapping RP. I reckon with the usual annual burst of new players, plus the whole social media element, it might be good to have fresh guidelines. Have your say 🙂
