chantillly-residentsaidHello all, I'm somewhat new to Crack Den, but have been wanting to get involved for some time. I say "somewhat" new because I did participate in the Phantoms plotline back when it first started up, several months ago. (Or longer! I can't quite remember.) It was some incredible RP and I was glad to be a part of it, although I dropped out shortly after the 'merchandise' escaped. Chantilly is the same toon I was using back then, although that character is long gone, and I'm looking to start playing someone new. Since I don't really know anyone here IC or OOC, it's a bit difficult for me to figure out a starting point to jump in and really get involved. But I've been doing some lurking around the sim, and I've been particularly intrigued by all the RP taking place around the police department. I'm still meshing out the idea for my character, but I think it would be interesting to have her get arrested and taken in to jail. I feel like it would be a good place for me to start getting to know some of the other characters, and might make for some interesting RP. The question I have right now is, how would I go about having my character (Nika Davies) get arrested? I could have her commit a crime, but without anyone here knowing me, I'm afraid I'd either be mistaken for a troll, or just ignored/disregarded. Is there someone from HPD that I should talk to ahead of time OOC to start planning on how to proceed with my story, or should I just jump in with both feet and try to commit a robbery or crime of some sort? Also, what is the normal length of time that a person's character can be incarcerated? I've been watching the RP between the prisoners and police for a couple of days now, and I'd actually like to have Nika remain in jail for a decent amount of time. It seems like there is no shortage of RP going on there, and I'm concerned that if she were to be released in a couple of days, I'd find myself wandering around, still not really knowing anyone or how to get involved. If anyone has any advice or could point me towards the right people I should be talking to, I'd appreciate it! |
