Kim Seo-jun married his high school sweetheart, Lee Yun Hee, but their love unraveled when Seo-jun became consumed by street racing. The danger and tension led to their divorce, and shortly after, Yun Hee discovered she was pregnant with their son, Jae-hwa Lee. Struggling financially a year later, she revealed Jae's existence to Seo-jun, who had already moved on and was preparing to marry Lilja, an Icelander. Despite the circumstances, Seo-jun vowed to support Jae financially, provided his existence remained a secret known only to Yun Hee, Seo-jun, and his best friend, Kang Ji-Wong.
