Jack Maskelyne was not his original name. Nor was he originally brunette. One thing he couldn't do much about was his eyes, they were too startlingly azure for his liking - though girls often liked them - and didn't allow him to be a completely forgettable face. He'd tried contact lenses, but they made his corneas so irritated that he'd had have eye drops for a week afterwards. Screw that. The thin wisps of facial hair he sported were not something anyone who knew him would have recognized. The scar on his left cheek was again, something new, though that wasn't fake.

No, apart from the eyes, it was a pretty good disguise. He'd come to Hathian a while back, moving down from the Bronx, leaving his mother and kid brother behind to work as a delivery guy. Louisiana?? They totally hadn't got that. Why would someone leave New York to work in Louisiana as a delivery guy? He'd never told them the whole story, who he was delivering for. Or what he was delivering.

They wouldn't cope with that...

He loved them both, dearly. So much that they had not to know. His mother was a strong, fearless and proud woman, her hair iron as her will and her eyes the same shade of blue-green as his. His brother - four years his junior - delicately beautiful with the same eyes and the trademark silky blonde hair of his family. He would do anything for the kid, fight anyone, take whatever blame. They had been inseparable. He hated himself for what he had done to them both.

But the summons that came from far South was not one he could ignore. The mysterious figure in all their lives but not in their lives, the absent figure in the photos, the missing half of the boys' genes. Their father.

He had never meant for it to go this far. He hadn't wanted to cut ties with the two people he loved the most in the world. He also hadn't meant to get involved with his father's dealings, especially when he found how depraved they were.

But the magnetism of the man - he admired the strength of his mother for being able to break free from him - was such that he was caught like a fly in a web, the rewards great, the risks exhilarating. He had to protect his family though, and for that reason he...

...vanished. Though his heart smote him when he thought of what his mother would do - ceaselessly search for him - and of his kid brother who wouldn't understand and would cry every night, he was sure. He felt ashamed, lost, alone. And yet, every time he looked into his father's eyes, he felt a rush of inspiration, a perverted reflected power, an invincibility. Almost, he could forget.

Almost.

( ( Now the OOC part. This is from my wish to have a player character brother for Leo Ducatillon and so I'm converting this NPC into a PC which for the time being I will (occasionally) play. It is my hope however that someone will step forwards to claim this guy ) )
