Hello my fellow CD'ers.Recently it has been brought to my attention that a number of crimes have gone unanswered by the HPD. I want you to know that we are doing every thing we can to get these crimes investigated and the suspects brought to justice.

I would like to offer all of you this time to inform me if you or someone you know had a case that got lost in the system. I will be looking for officers who want to step up and also move up in rank. These officers can prove themselves to the department and to the community by doing their best to resolve the crimes and bring Mr or Ms bad person to justice. PLEASE LIMIT THESE CASES TO THE LAST 2 - 4 WEEKS.

As much as I would like to solve all the cold cases, we must remain objective. I ask everyone to focus on more recent events and crimes that happened in the last 2 - 4 weeks. Please send me a NC with the following......

1) Date and time the crime took place.
2) People involved.
3) Evidence recovered.
4) Witness names.
5) Was the case being handled previously by another officer? If so, what officer?
6) Was a sworn statement taken? If so, who and what did they say in their statement.
6) Any additional information that would help to get the case rolling again.

Rememeber, while it is fun to have us look into crimes, we need solid evidence to go on or we will end up running into a dead end and your case will end up unsolved all over again. The more we know, the more we can do to solve the crime.

I will be assigning these cases on a first come, first served basis. So send in your cold case today and I will see what I can get accomplished for everyone. On a final note, officers interested in picking up the cold cases can also send me a NC requesting to be taken into concideration.

Humbly yours,
HPD Sergeant Sarah N. Carlucci
