Mari wakes up in the tunnel by the park downtown, passed out next to the hobo barrels and covered in bruises and scrapes. She did it again, started out drinking alone in her motel room, and once the alcohol takes over she heads to the cemetery and then maybe down to the beach. She must have fallen real bad this time, but some of the bruises...god, don't they look like a person did that do her?

She stumbles through town, following the lights of the 24-hour laundromat and collapsing outside of it, ironically directly beneath their "Help Wanted" sign. What a pathetic mess. Anyone could find her here, like this. Maybe someone already did find her tonight, she doesn't know. She should probably go to the hospital but she doesn't like to do that, worries about the bill and the bad news both. If she could just sleep a little bit longer, she's so sleepy. Yeah, we'll just figure it out in the morning. Everything's gonna be ok, right?
