Gwendalyn lived in Toronto, Canada with her mother who was a crack addict after her father passed away when she was 16. Gwen didn't know her mother was into drugs, not until her sister went missing, and Gwen had to press her mother as to why she wasn't looking for her. Gwen's mother told her that her sister was sold off to pay for drug debts, and that Gwen could never go looking for her, or else they would be hunted down by the gang. Gwen had to suffer in silence, telling everyone she knew her sister had run away, tired of living without their father. It was many years before she was forced to confront her mother again. She was now into her twenties, and having to stay at home to take care of her mother and pay the rent. Everyday she worked at the local gas station during the day, and bar tended at night, just to keep afloat. One day, a man approached her at the bar after she had closed up, and attempted to drag her from the bar. She escaped and ran home, thinking that it was an isolated event, but when her mother asked why she was there, that she should have just gone off with him, she knew that her mother had done something. She forced her mother to explain what she had done, and discovered that she too, had been given in repayment to the gang. Gwen packed up a bag and ran, heading as far as she could away from her mother and the streets of Toronto.

Today, Gwen finds herself in Hathian, without much money and in fear of them following her. She knows her mother may very well call in a search for her, for if she didn't she would likely lose out on her drugs. Gwen now must fear and be wary of everyone she meets, in case they are in with the gang and are going to reveal her location to them.
