GROUP NAME: Dirty South Viceroys

MEMBERS: Rabid Bedlam, Paulie Broek, judge evermore, vladislav.ogrimund

BACKSTORY: Need to fill – Our hope is to bring a very hard and brutal gang to Hathian. Born out of the prisons our main commerce would be drugs using a corner stoop system where we would have sellers out on the street, runners, money men. We would like to keep a few whores around though not as a main. These girls would be used to service the crew, make some money on the side, and be used to work in packaging, and even distribution. Another need that we hope this will fill will be a back to basics harsh and brutal roleplay. Gang discipline within and outside the ranks would be brutal but fast. We’re not looking to mind fuck and do long tortures. Its about the money and the game. Certainly things will occasionally come up and there is going to be a huge rift in leadership styles between Paulie [ cold ruthless about the the money] and Rabid [hardened with a code] but as far as bottom line and to the outside we are hard, disciplined, ruthless, united. History: Katrina had an unexpected effect on the gang scene of New Orleans. A power vacuum was created as many of the old sets so displaced could not retain the old stranglehold of violence which had kept out the outsiders for years. Gangs such as the Bloods, Crips, MS-13 and Gangster Disciples descended upon the Crescent city. A new power arose in the 9th Ward to combat these outside influences. This crew was known as Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Funded with drugs and money from a Chicago-based crew, Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] arose as a power player in the newly formed gang scene in New Orleans. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] adopted the efficient and merciless brutality which defined the old gangs along with the organization in the drug trade which defined larger crews new to the city. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] with its local flavor and new organization quickly expanded throughout New Orleans and the surrounding area including the prison system. Incarcerated gang members took promising gang bangers from the local sets and tutored them in everything from the drug trade to literature. The gang provided these young minds with works by Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Homer, Plato, and many other great thinkers of history. Reason before muscle was their motto. But muscle was not neglected. Yard time for all prospective Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] members was like boot camp. Incorporating training methods used by the United States military, the shot callers of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] in prison were intending on creating soldiers on the street. Out of all its recruitment methods, the use of Islam was the most sinister. Buying off members of the Nation of Islam, they used it as vessel of recruitment. Young men from the hood who were in prison and looking for guidance who turned to Islam also turned to Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. The perks of conversion to Islam in prison included peace of mind that religion gives, protection from Dirty South Viceroys [DSV], payment of lawyers’ fees and other perks. But all these perks came at a price. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] expected new converts to pay them back with services to the gang. Those who proved worthy were many times offered positions in Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Islamic symbolism was incorporated into the gang’s symbols and graffiti. Despite its connections to religion and Islam, Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] expects all of its members to perpetrate heinous acts of violence of anyone who gets in their way of making money. Hesitation or weakness are traits that automatically get you disqualified from being a member. Cowardice and disloyalty are traits that get you killed. ”Blood in, blood out” became the motto of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Members were expected to spill the blood of a rival without hesitation or mercy to gain entrance into Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Only way to get out of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] was to get killed. Leaving the gang is not an option. When one joins the gang, they are not allowed to leave. Rivals of the gang were dealt with the same brutality the gang was known for. “Kill ‘em all, let Allah sort them out” become a popular statue of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Enemies were taken out in a fashion that was highly visible. In the prisons, a rival would be shanked middle of the day by 5 members of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] in front of the guards. All members of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] had to be ready to one day become lifers. The Louisiana Prison System became the seat of power of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV]. Shot callers from the gang would make orders in the prisons that would be carried out on the streets with the same blatant disregard for the law as in prison. On the streets, public slayings were done in broad daylight so the whole neighborhood could see what happens to enemies of the gang. The neighborhoods were Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] operated were so afraid of retribution that they very few of the crimes on the street were reported. Fear and merciless brutality became the calling cards of Dirty South Viceroys [DSV], and this new virus was spreading. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] set on expansion had its sight on the nearby city of Hathian. Sending agents of the Nation of Islam into the state prison located there, they found a lifer and former gang leader, Paulie Gambino. The man was lost and hit rock bottom. He was turning to Islam to maybe turn his life around, but Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] saw him as their in Hathian. Using the man by funneling him resources and getting his murder sentence reduced to manslaughter, they bound him to the gang quickly. They have tasked him with creating a crew in prison, recruiting across gang lines to make a strong crew that once back on the streets will make a play for the streets of Hathian. From there Paulie turned to his cell mate and former enemy Rabid Calhern the incarcerated leader of a local Hathian crew. The die was cast and the gang grew from both mens influence.

UNIQUE: 1) We would have the actual gang be all male [except for Naz who really has the biggest balls of us all] as we see as reflective in real gangs. In the future it might be possible for a female affiliate gang to put in an application for approval. Until that time females would be welcomed to play in a variety of affiliate rolls. 2) Blood in Blood out – We are asking that anyone who wants to come into the crew has a character so dedicated to this gang that they will agree to a blood in blood out oath. Basically meaning that if they leave the gang IC they agree that they are open to the possibility of being killed IC. This we believe would stop gang hoppers. Spurring New Roleplay and bringing new players in: How we are going to gather and keep roleplay is through the dedication to realism that we are trying to achieve. Alot of research has been done on how prison gangs, and different gangs through the South operate. I beleive this will be attractive to prospective members. Second, anyone who has the interest in this type of of roleplay is more than welcome to get involved. Becoming an affiliate is just a matter of your character realistically fitting in with the crew. Anyone who fits the bill on brutality, ambition, gender would be considered for a position as an active member.

EXP: Well I have experience leading successful gangs. I am good at trying to include everyone in plot lines. I have no issue with taking a bullet, or Rpg up the ass if it brings great roleplay [losing in general

IDEAS: Would like to focus more on the business of thugging. Role playing the sales, the hook ups, the take downs etc. This is from the notecard we are planning on giving to prospects i think it outlines what our hopes are from them that will add to the dark poor feel of Hathian. In-character Requirements: All members must be male, associates can be female, but all members have to male. It is to promote realism in the gang, because in all reality females in a real life gang scene is limited at best and they usually have their own sets. [One exception only will be made period] Also members maybe good roleplayers, but if they do not show the brutality that we expect, they will not be allowed in. We will be very selective on this fact. If your character has some in character reason why they cannot beat the shit out of someone, we do not care. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] is brutal, efficient and deadly. They follow orders to deadly efficiency. This is what we are known for. Any hesitation or mercy will be automatic in character disqualification. If we ask you to kill your mother because she wronged the gang, you do it, simple as that. Blood in Blood out. You are brought into the gang after you commit a violent felony for the gang which has been deemed worthy (provings and training also may follow this felony). But you also are not allowed to leave the gang until your death. To join the gang, you must 100 percent sure in characterly, because if you betray the gang or leave it you give members consent to kill you. This means when considering Dirty South Viceroys [DSV], please be completely sure that this is what you want the story of your character to be, because it is a commitment that is not shaken off lightly. Now, exceptions can be made if you talk to us out of characterly but it will have to be a big exception. If you do not leave the gang on good terms, you will most likely give us auth to kill you. This is done to promote storyline’s though, we are not going to just shoot you, but if we do, do something to kill you please keep the poosibility of dying in the forefront, you signed up for this. Please remember what you are, you are a criminal most likely a minority from the slums of Hathian or another city in a street crew. You are poor and make money through the gang and progressing through the ranks. You will never be filthy rich like a mafifa don, but you will get by and maybe get to buy some fancy things. People who throw money around like assholes will be punished by the gang, because you are drawing unwanted attention to yourself and our criminal enterprise. You will get beat by the gang if you fuck up. If you fail, you will get beat. You do something that pisses the boss off you will get beat. You break any of the gang’s rules you will get beat. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] is not a nice street gang we are not here to be your BFFL’s or your babysitter. You do something that jeopardizes the gang you will get your shit tossed. There is a system of justice that the gang abides by, but you consent to it all. Breaking gang rules will not lead to a killing unless you betray the gang which means colluding with the police or a rival. Please know this coming in I don’t want someone to bitch and moan to me once in the gang saying, “I want to leave and not die because I am all butthurt you beat the shit out of me.” Please know damn well this is not the Mickey Mouse fan club when you are getting into it, you will get hurt and you will not have a pretty face when you are 40 if you make it that far. Along those same lines, you will get into fights and go to jail. Please cooperate with the jail times to a point. Like don’t go willingly of course, but don’t power the shit out of cops to just avoid jail time. Dirty South Viceroys [DSV] members know getting into this shit that they will be doing hard time at the end of their life or end up dead. You will also end up getting fucked up and hurt a lot of the time in the gang. Please consent to playing out these injuries please. Anyone who magically fucking heals will get a stern talking to from me or Rabid. Also we aren’t a real tortury group. Stuff can be used to extract information, but please think brutal quick and efficient. I am not going to sit around all day while you satisfy some sexual fantasy when I just want to know where the man keeps his cash. Do what you have to but stick to thejob. We want to make money not hurt someone for every single sin they have done against us.

OTHER: While we are going to encourage new to the den players into the gang we are going to be selctive. We will work with a player in the affiliate capacity untill they are ready to wear an actual gang tag.
