Due to recent events, and I will keep this post nameless since it could apply or not apply depending on what kind of reaction I instill here, I am compelled to ask a question to the community and to the mods and admins of the sim, in good faith, and to address those that would form these 'unapproved' gangs without mod/admin approval. First, and foremost, family names. I am seeing a growing trend whereby simply by being a member of a 'family' you are now a gang. Just so you understand where I'm coming from, I need to give a little background.

When I was positioning for leader for a new gang called The Black Sand, an asian gang a while back that dispersed quickly due to my personal life sadly, some of the first things mods told me before we officially got approved, was warning of role playing 'as a gang' before we were approved. No gang-ups on characters, etc. To keep things on the down low, etc. So in good faith we had to 'lay low' so to speak until we could be official.

Now, with that being said, those that would build their own 'empire' on the sim without approval, are not privy to the same rules and ownership of say, a Reject gang or the Reapers, who have to follow a certain standard and fairness in order to be respected by players as well as answer to mods and admins for any disorderly conduct on the part of players in said gang.

So I would like for us to talk as a community of mature players on what constitutes a 'gang'. Do we need approval by the mods to have one [clearly that line is blurred], and should we be bearing down on these 'families' that grow in numbers and defend themselves and are talked about in icly circles as 'gangs'? Any feedback here would be appreciated by anyone who has an ear to hear.
