BACKGROUND: An 'all in the family' organization of Hathian, who own Sofia's Bar Lounge and Morgan's Restaurant, Delphine Village apartments & retail, to smoke screen their gentlemen's club and various side projects involving both local production and importing, unconventional medical and scientific practice and other activities that side-step the law. Sofia Messina-Davis runs her family with her husband Morgan and some of her loyal staff of the bar lounge and restaurant. The Messina-Davis family wish to increase profits and avoid taxes, so that above all, Sofia can support her family and let them want for nothing. She will put the benefit of her family first every time, before respecting the law - and will sacrifice others to save her own, if needs be. The Messina-Davis Family does not take kindly to lies or betrayal, and will react with force, taking an eye for an eye, and sometimes more. The Messina-Davis Family also provide support for those in need, via their own set of rules on what is right. This includes some charitable acts, such as, giving people a place to live, work, and other support, with a favor at some point expected in return, of course. They also provide a service for the citizens of Hathian, where people can pay for the skills and resources of the family, such as: carrying out technical security/hacking, unorthodox medical practices and methods of torture, abduction and imprisonment, importing chemicals and other materials that may or may not be legal, and basically, carrying out acts of revenge. The Messina-Davis family are not outwardly vicious, and seem at face value to be quirky, fun-loving, warm and friendly people. Just stay in their good books. UNIQUE: Sofia's Bar Lounge ~ Officially Registered Private Business of Hathian. A local bar offering the finest coffee, imported wines, liquors and cigars all served with complimentary aperitives from Italy and France, 60s kitsch/Italian/French style, owned by Sofia Messina. Friendly staff. Very friendly waitresses. ((Secretly, doubles up as a gentleman's club, and front for organised crime family Messina-Davis)) This bar has been an all inclusive roleplaying area of D8, as all citizens are welcomed and they bar is often staffed and always welcoming. There are a range of jobs for different walks of life and different limits are always catered for. Faction members will make connections and alliances with other factions and businesses, to create trade agreements re: resources (material goods and muscle) and support each other, else make powerful enemies of each other. There will be plenty of meetings and interactions with other citizens, and also open to connections, through blood-relation or sought out roles and responsibility, that will help the family to grow and to generate as much RP for who seeks it from our family.

 

FLAW: Sofia's main flaw will be that she cares too much about her family members, and this will be her weakness, as all it would take would be one member to be under threat and she and the family could potentially become undone. Despite her illegal dabbling, she has a big heart and this is her Achilles heel. Other weaknesses are, an unstable family member who may take things too far, and not well thought out business deals, where they would essentially form alliance with someone who is dangerous to the family and not to be trusted.

 

POTENTIAL ENEMY: Enemies could be rival businesses who do not with to collaborate

 

EXPERIENCE: I'm calm and easy-going, and I don't take things personally. My RL job requires me to organise a large group of people with differing life experiences, learning difficulties and needs and I'm good at diffusing potential drama. I like to help people build their strengths and support people who are learning. I like teaching/coaching and always make time to do so. I'm good at promotions and admin things, and keep a steady flow of communication among any group. I also am willing to follow guidelines and comply when admins inform me on things, and am happy to be flexible.

 

IDEAS: Regular events, staff training, connecting characters, delegating set tasks for members to follow up on and report on, regular meetings and also make sure that all staff/members of my group are ready with an OOC landmark to share and instruct them on how to get set up in the sim. That's our speciality, we do that already. My staff are instructed to give new players a chance and we orchestrate 'simpler' scenes for them to practice and build on their skills and experience.

 

OTHER: Orcus Samedi MC collaboration and trades of resources. Also thinking of connecting with the hotel business.
