I'm getting some serious hardware usage issues and I'm reaching out because there's a very good chance they are related to the region or the avatars in them. (Though I will also be looking into things strictly on my end.)

I have 16 GB of RAM and 8 GB of VRAM, with an additional 8 GB of shared video memory. That's a honking lot, and I can still run most newerish games on higher settings with no issues. What I'm finding in Hathian, however, is that my RAM and VRAM usage jumps to nearly 100% across all metrics, meaning that SL is using ALL of that. Every. Last. Bit. 16 GB RAM, and 8 GB VRAM + 8 GB shared. That's dumb stupid. And the result is that my hardware gets overloaded and I start getting artifacts in my camera view, which are flickering squares, triangles, and lines of various colors, as well as grey or low resolution textures, and completely deformed mesh that looks like something from a videogame creepypasta. It is incredibly disruptive and requires me to restart the viewer, at which point I just watch my hardware usage climb up again within literal minutes.

Now, this could pretty easily be an issue on my end. There's a few things I have in mind already to check. But I also realize that SL demands far more resources than it should because of the user creations in it, and this could just as easily be a problem with the region, which suggests others may have noticed too. And it will continue to disrupt until someone investigates and fixes it, if it is indeed a problem with the sim itself.

I have so far only experienced this level of issue in Hathian, in the main sim, where I spend the most of my time while logged in. I cannot rule out that it cannot happen elsewhere, but so far it has not. I contacted a staff member about this the second time that it happened and was told it would get passed to an admin, but I heard nothing back. So now I'm here, in case other community members are having same or similar problems or have advice on what to troubleshoot that I don't already have a mind to do.
