Edda Ritter is a 28-year-old German woman, having made her way to Hathian, Louisiana after a lifetime of life in the less-than-glamorous side of Europe. Hailing (obviously) from Germany, she has good knowledge of English and how to properly speak it, but she seems to have a hate for the language and willingly allows her German accent to remain thick and warp almost every English word she speaks. Fondly proud of her homeland, she views Hathian only as a temporary place to stay though it's unknown exactly why she's in Hathian at all and how long she then plans to remain in the city.

Edda is careful to hide her emotions, motives, and history before Hathian. Constantly wearing an expression of apathy and near vacancy, it is very hard to invoke any sort of outward emotional reaction from her. While she'll be quick to act in her own favor, she will usually calmly avoid any confrontations-though she has been known to gleefully engage in drunken bar fights and other such violent encounters. Whether or not she becomes involved in an altercation depends on her deciding whether or not it will result in a negative, positive or neutral result for her and her ambitions.

Underneath her strictly guarded mask of emotionlessness, Edda actually seems to be a woman devoid of showing or experiencing many normal human emotions. This leads to not only her cruelty and sadistic pleasures, but also to her inability to connect with people and seeing them as little more than pawns or worthless beings passing by in her life. She tends to hide these traits and the perverse interests that go along with them in order to appear more "innocent". Manipulative and meticulous, she's known to sometimes shed off her emotional mask and put on a false persona (of course with the intent of gaining something she desires), showing her selfish nature.

Not much is known about Edda, and the little information she does reveal about her life is either vague or grossly twisted to shock some poor fool (though her real history is almost as appalling as any lie she could tell).

Miscellaneous Notes on Edda:
She has a very mild addiction to nicotine and is somewhat often found with a cigarette, and her smoking has less to do with relaxation and is more a habit of boredom.

She, like many other Hathian citizens, has interest and habit of recreational drug use, and doesn't shy away from harder substances. However, she does tend to avoid hallucinogens, as their effects are rather disastrous for her and she despises the resulting hallucinations (due in part to a past bad trip and an event that occurred during one phantasm).

Edda has numerous scars all over her body, with almost no inch of her tanned skin without at least one small mark. The most noticeable scar being a long, jagged cut on her right cheek that sprawls from the corner of her right eye to the small curve between the underside of her bottom lip and the beginning of her chin. Another is on her right shoulder, three run over her collarbone, and there is a large burn mark that flaws her otherwise perfect right breast. Her back is covered in deep, slightly fading whip marks, and she has an old bullet wound in her left hip. There are also slight stretch marks on her stomach, with healed wounds and the scars they left behind covering her stomach and legs.

She has one tattoo on the inside of her thigh, the design being very garish and vulgar and poorly done. The skin around that area is rough and unpleasant, due to the low quality of the ink and whatever instrument was used to draw it onto her.
