Deteric is a 13 year old orphan with an authority complex. Born to a loving family, his early years were perfect until he was diagnosed with an illness that was expressed to have a high likeliness to kill him slowly. The details were kept from him, except his awareness that death would haunt him through his life. Deteric began losing his hair around the age of 9, and has kept the secret of his illness very much under-wraps, leaving many to wonder if he was obsessed with hair dye, or something else going on that was too touchy to ask about. Shortly after his diagnosis, his mother was gripped by alcoholism, which in combination of the distress from Deteric's fate, led directly to the suicidal death of his biological father. This in turn sent his mother into the down spiral of a serious drug addiction, and began having shady individuals in their home. The latest was a man named Carl, who refused to leave, and ridiculed the boy for everything from his height to the way he spoke, his lack of hair, his illness, and his whore of a mother. Times did not get any easier, as he also suffered beatings that put him to the brink of death on several occasions in his life by this man, who waited until his mother was passed before abusing him. Deteric suffered much violence that when he finally was taken in by the state, he had little trust for adult/authority figures. Moved around to many homes in a short time due to behavior issues, he finally ran from the system, taking to the streets. After hitching a ride in the back of a truck, he found himself on the outskirts of the city, and wandered in to start a new life. He has a short temper, a smart mouth, and a violent streak that tends to get him into trouble on a daily basis, but he will stand up for someone being treated wrongly.
