Del Nucci was born into a world of contradictions, his origins deeply rooted in both the mystical bayous of southern Louisiana and the brutal streets of New York. His mother, a Creole crime family princess, was a witch revered in the swamps, a master of hoodoo and the unseen arts. His father, Jackie "The Eye" Nucci, was a feared mobster from New York, known for his sharp instincts and his piercing gaze, which seemed to see through men’s souls. Del’s childhood was a fusion of the mystical traditions of his mother and the hard-edged street wisdom of his father.

Growing up, Del was always caught between two worlds. His father taught him how to survive in the underworld—how to run a racket, plan a heist, and kill without hesitation—while his mother trained him in the old ways, conjuring and harnessing unseen forces. Despite being born into a crime family, Del’s mixed-race heritage meant he was never fully embraced by the mob. He was kept on the periphery, excluded from the core operations and the promise of ever becoming a "made man."

At 15, Del’s life took a dramatic turn when Jackie "The Eye" uprooted the family from the Louisiana bayous to the Bronx, a move driven by his ambitions to expand his influence in the New York underworld. But this shift also came with unintended consequences. In New York, Del faced the challenge of adapting to a new environment where his thick accent and rural mannerisms made him an easy target. Yet, he quickly turned those challenges into strengths, using his sharp mind and natural charisma to navigate the city's shadowy alleys and form connections with the likes of street thugs, hustlers, and hitmen.

Although Del wasn’t allowed deep within the inner circles of his father’s operations, he learned from the sidelines, watching and absorbing everything like a sponge. Jackie "The Eye" ran his crew with an iron fist, and his most trusted lieutenants—Nicky "2Phones" Samson, Arnie "The Wrench," and a handful of other hardened wise guys—became Del's mentors. They taught him the nuances of the life, from setting up scams to silencing those who posed a threat. Though they saw potential in Del, he remained an outsider due to his mixed heritage. The feds, however, were not blind to his activities; they had a good idea about his involvement in various dealings, but never enough to bring a solid RICO charge against him.

That changed when Jackie "The Eye" Nucci and his crew got hit with a major RICO indictment. Years of racketeering, extortion, and murder had finally caught up with them. The government had gathered a mountain of evidence—phone taps, surveillance, and testimony from informants. One by one, Del watched as his father, Nicky "2Phones" Samson, Arnie "The Wrench," and others who had shaped his understanding of the life were taken down, leaving him on the outside looking in. The mob's collapse exposed the limits of Del's own influence; he was untouchable but unmade, known but not known enough to be brought in.

With his father's empire crumbling and federal agents circling, Del saw the writing on the wall. Refusing to be a casualty of the downfall, he orchestrated a swift escape, fleeing New York with his family and returning to the mysterious, swampy landscape of Hathian, Louisiana. There, he sought to start anew, opening a classic car restoration shop to project a veneer of legitimacy. The locals saw him as a skilled mechanic with a magnetic personality, while the darkness of his past remained hidden beneath a calm exterior.

Yet, the allure of his old life never fully left him. His reputation as a black-market dealer followed him to Louisiana. Slowly, he began to dip his toes back into the underworld, quietly taking on minor contracts, fencing stolen art, and maintaining ties with his old network. Hunting alligators in the swamps became his outlet, a way to channel his violent impulses and temporarily quiet the turmoil in his mind.

Del now stands at a crossroads. On one side is the life he’s trying to build for his family, driven by a genuine desire to go straight and create something stable. On the other is the seductive pull of his former life, with its promises of power, excitement, and the dark thrill that he knows too well. His wife, knowing much of his past but not all, insists on honesty and transparency. Every day, Del battles to keep the darkness at bay, torn between the life he yearns to lead and the one he is always tempted to return to.
