This will be a foundation within Columtreal University making all staff also staff of Columtreal (with a focus on the foundation). All those employed will have the ability to also dabble in different types of employment at CU (get creative!). Since this proposal aims to unite both Hathian and CU businesses we have allowed for even benefactors to have some sway over CU and its students 😉 Have ideas or suggestions to help Trinus flesh out his ideas? The Columtreal Foundation

BACKSTORY: The Foundation will serve as a source of funding for CU--an increasingly important aspect of the campus in light of the economic crisis in the area. Benefits (dinners, dances, auctions, etc.) will provide opportunities for larger events on campus, while the solicitation of donations from businesses around Hathian will foster connections between the campus and CD proper. Hosting fundraising events can promote traffic for the campus and private businesses opened around here. The funds raised may be awarded to students via scholarships (recipients could be chosen via competitions or lotteries, for example) or invested in campus organizations like sororities or other clubs. Vying for funding could create some fun rivalries among the clubs. Finally, of course, the acquisition and storage of large amounts of money on campus should offer plenty of opportunities for embezzlement, theft, bribery, or whatever other shady activities our creative minds can come up with. Criminals may even wish to donate (temporarily) funds for the means of money laundering or maybe even donate valuable assets to hide evidence on campus. Lots of possibilities here, I hope.

IDEAS:Events will be promoted through official sim groups, on twitter, and via the forums. We'll also do IC promotion via word of mouth, maybe some posters around campus, things like that. I am especially excited to collaborate with other leaders, as one of the main goals in proposing this group is to bring people together and interact with other faculty, students, and business owners. Creating more connections between characters and players should lead to more rp opportunities for everyone. There should be a lot of roles available in the proposed group, including a director, assistant, and a board of trustees. The board ideally would include business owners who wish to appear invested in their community--or even private individuals (even criminals) looking to spread their influence or make a more respectable image for themselves through philanthropy.
