jo trimblesaidHello there. I just wish to add a couple of cents worth of opinion from my experience with CU so far and have a couple of suggestions. These are mostly technical things rather than RP things. Enrolment difficulties 1. If you are app'd in with a general CD application you also have to app in with a columtreal application While I realize that is necessary for the HPD as well, the HPD does come with a degree of authority over, well pretty much everyone. Students don't really have authority, though teachers have authority over students ((see later points)) So maybe only tutors should jump through this extra app'ing process. For students it can be rather tedious to have to app in twice . While this means that only the "Brightest and best and most dedicated" may join the university, the result is a mostly empty campus.
2. Way too many campus groups. While I understand that the roster relies on "group" activity to sign in, there really should only be two groups. Faculty and Students. If you are a cheerleader or Jock, it -stands to reason- you are also a student. Surely one student group should be enough for all campus activities. Why not just make student roles "Cheerleader, Athlete , Freshman, Senior " group titles... you have 9 titles floating around after all.. Frat bro, Sorority sis " etc.. we don't need a million ranks spread over different groups, and to be honest -All- campus activity by students should count towards campus activity on the roster. The splitting into sub groups in my opinion only makes it harder to manage players.. There should be no harm in the student group sending out notices to all students....for stuff like cheer practice or practice football games , of frat sorority parties... In real life this type of info would be displayed to all students in the halls anyway, so a generic student group wouldn't really differ all that much. I do understand you might want to kick people from frat, cheer squad etc without booting them from student overall, but I'm sure there are tools leads could use to add/remove titles for individuals in the one group. The only split should be faculty and students. So you can measure teacher to student ratio via the diagnostics thingy. Then there is the tuition fee thing...while not compulsory, as you can take an on campus job, nobody wants an on campus job when there is almost nobody on campus to roleplay with. As I say, these are just my personal subjective opinions, no response is necessary or expected, just putting in my two cents worth in case I might be on to something. Might be worth have a recruitment office in town itself.. who knows 🙂 Anyways, all comments aside, I have been having fun regardless, of my trivial observations so please keep up the good work. |
