Okay, this is not usually where I post campus events but we have a huge event coming up that will require the efforts of the entire CU campus and the Hathian community at large. The Sorority Date Auction , in just under three weeks.

When: June 20th 2009
Time: 4pm SLT
Where: HABitat (BETA sorority house)
Details: Bring your lindens and your slightly skewed fascination with sorority girls

A number of BETA, KNX and GRIM sisters are donating their time to help raise money for the various sisterhoods on campus (a fraternity Date Auction will follow on the heels of this event). Whether you are being auctioned, know someone who is, work on campus or live in Hathian we encourage you to come to this event and support a good cause.

Every linden generated will be divided amongst the houses to support their efforts in the college community. Your generous donations will help to allay costs such as housing, building, and services for events and parties all of which foster a sense of community and inclusion on the campus.

Will the girls be auctioned for real lindens?

Yes, the lindens will be distributed between the three houses to help off-set some of the costs of operating a sorority.

Is the event IC (in-character)?

Yes the event and the dates will be IC.

What do I get for my lindens?

Each girl has expectations/limitations for the date that will be made perfectly clear to the bidder prior to the event. A catalogue of girls being auctioned will be made available by request of Quinn Somerset or Ava Delacroix. Within this catalogue you can read a girls profile and get a sense of what the date will entail In addition, girls may make themselves available via IM to answer any questions prior to the auction event. During the auction itself, girls will not be talking with bidders, so...ask as many questions as you may have- but don't wait until the last minute.

If this is an RP event, why cant we RP the payment and not use real lindens?

The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for a few of the Greek Organizations on campus. The participants are making a donation of their time in the hopes that it will support their various sorority houses.

How much will it cost to buy a date?

As this is an auction the cost of a particular girls will be 'what the market will bear' However, given the purpose and goals of the auction we hope the bids will be generous.
