Born in a tiny city in Venezuela Carlos was the youngest of 4 children. His father was a part of Cartel de los Soles. He doesn’t remember a lot about his mother. There are flashes from time to time and he knows she was around in his early years of training. But her death or disappearance was never talked about. She just wasn’t there one day. Most of his brothers were in the cartel or other tiny gangs that worked for the cartel. His sister left home when she hit her teen years. Of all the boys in the family Carlos was the strongest and biggest one. Even at ten years younger than his oldest brother he was at equal height.

Very early on his grandfather did his best to keep Carlos out of gangs. Seeing his potential in the ring. He worked feverishly to get Carlos to the gym every day. Almost from the time he could walk Carlos was in a gym. At first it was boxing then as his length started to really show they moved him to kickboxing. His powerful legs and long arms gave him a great advantage in the sport. Through his pre teens and early teens he rose up the ranks. Beating people that were twice his age at times. His father on the other hand saw an enforcer. Someone who could rise through the ranks of the cartel and be an asset for him. His father and grandfather fought regularly. His grandfather Ernesto and his grandmother Avadonia seemed to hold the upper hand. Keeping Carlos on the straight and narrow path.

As Carlos adult years got close he was in line for a title fight. Just a few more wins and he could finally hold a belt and make his grandfather proud. His father Alejandro saw a different opportunity. He and the cartel felt it was the perfect time to get Carlos to throw a fight. They promised him money beyond his dreams. And convinced him that one fight wouldn’t derail his career. He could always come back but the money would last a long time. Carlos finally agreed. Some say he wanted make his father proud, other that he wants to give his grandparents a better life. Whatever the case he agreed. As the fight came closer Carlos lived in the gym like always. But rumors started to swirl about his opponent. Two days before the fight he saw the man he was to fight walking in town. He was fat, overweight out of shape and looked like a mess. It was obvious he knew the fix was in and was taking advantage of it. His opponent came across the street and heckled and mocked Carlos. Infuriated he went back to his father telling him there was no way he could lose this fight. It would look ridiculous and damage his reputation. It was too obvious it was fixed if he lost.

His father told him what would happen if he didn’t lose the fight. What the cartel does to those that betray them. Carlos struggled for the next two days. But the day of the fight as he walked in the ring he was still conflicted. The fight started and his opponent just continued the mockery and his words burned in Carlos ears. His grandfather screaming at him to give his best and win the fight. Finally Carlos snapped the onslaught that came from the fury of elbows, knees and punches would have downed any well trained man. To an overweight out of shape one it killed him.

Unsure of what was going to happen Carlos went out and celebrated. He went back to his girlfriends home and spent the night. During that night she was abducted and what was done to her was inhumane. To Carlos he was beaten to an inch of his life. Over 40 bones in his body broken and the final insult was a slashing of his throat two cuts making and X. Forever marking him.

After several weeks he woke up in the hospital. His father was there to greet him. Letting him know he had two choice work for the cartel and payback the money that was owed or his grandparents would be killed as would Carlos. It was an easy choice. He joined the cartel and started to be hired muscle. But his grandparents health quickly deteriorated. Not having Carlos to train anymore and seeing him fall into the hands of the cartel his grandfather lost a reason to live. Within a year he had passed. Not long after his grandmother. Three deaths on his hands he feel into drinking and just being brutal to those that crossed him.

The cartel saw him as a major asset. The point him in a direction and he would kill. They filled him with drugs, steroids and alcohol. He got massive in a short time. His focus on martial arts continued to grow. His combat with his hands was always his focus. After several years Russian mafia partnered with the cartel and suddenly a whole new arsenal of combat training was opened for Carlos. He was a weapon.

His ego became almost as deadly as his hands. One day the son of the head of the Cartel was drunk and started laughing and making fun of Carlos. Calling him his bitch dog that would do whatever he would say. Carlos waited for him to be alone then with a single snap broke the boys neck. He knew he would be found and decided now was time to leave. He traveled up south America. Figuring USA would be a good place to hide. Along the way he paid for fake documents and suddenly his name was Carlos Chavez. A few more months on the run and the name started to stick.

While on the run from the cartel he found peace. Once the drugs were out of his system he seemed more calm and relaxed. Maybe it was what they were pumping into him that keep him that angry and mean. But after a month he started to find his calm. He also noticed his muscle mass was dropping. Carlos was able to find some veterinarian shops and started to inject testosterone again. Not in the high doses before but enough to keep his size. He stayed away from the weed and cocaine. Sticking to limiting himself to tequila and not the large amounts like before. That just seemed to bring out the worse in him.

Finally in Chihuahua Mexico he found a coyote to get him over the boarder. They mentioned Louisianna as a nice place to hide. No big cities, no big lights. He knew the cartel would never look for him there. He could probably blend in. His English had faded over the years since he rarely used it but he knew he could pick it back up. Finally he knew were he was heading. What would be there that what a different question.
