Vudu Spice Shop

BACKGROUND: I would like the shop to maintain the certain religious/occult style direction that my character is maintaining. Obviously already working there and being an ex member of the devouring she was heavily into the occult and wiccan practices, only difference being is it would steer more in the direction of bringing people into the store to broaden their minds on religion and if anything essentially encouraging them to join the religion. So hosting things like, block parties, drug related events such as raves or even back of house barbeques to draw in new customers and story lines involving the vudu. Staff would also be included in helping to run the events, and forming good story lines for the shop when it comes to their drug running activities or even holding and hosting occult style events like readings and rituals. I think Dark would fit in well as a management because she enjoys being able to take charge and steer everyone toward a more social aspect of the vudu, and is not focused on only gang related RP. If anything it will be a neutral ground for people to come and have darker RP which is great for wiccan, occult or just being able to come in contact with a creepier, strange more twisted side of Hathian.

 

UNIQUE: The business already stands out from the others because of the more cult like activity it procures there. It offers a good amount of organic rp from those wanting to dabble in magic or voodoo, but it also offers the ability to sell books of a different variety and its own form of drugs. While it would be mostly perceived as a place for darker RP it can also be utilized for some more innocent things too such as younger adults or children looking to preform love spells or general public looking to have their palms read or their fortunes told. It leaves the doors open also for the good characters of Hathian as well as the bad to be able to come and mingle together with the events which are planned to be held.

 

EXPERIENCE:I have been involved in the Crack Den community for over 6 years now, it has been on my other dark character in which most of my time was spent and another separate account of course but the Dark character now has been for no other purpose than to be RPing on Crack Den. I am familiar with not only Rp with others, but also helping out as manager of the Vudu of how the IC businesses are operated. I also have a very good understanding of sim rules, and proper RP etiquette and I am very excited to be able to extend my story line to a whole lot of new characters on sim. I am always willing to adapt and learn, and help to branch out to as many people as I can which is not just gang-related RP. Majority of the time at least I am usually engaged in RP with non-gang affiliated characters. I am capable to maintain OOC communication and keeping up with others in terms or on-going storylines as well as wanting to engage the new staff in joint story lines with others to be able to meet one another. I would like to progress my story and am happy to help everyone move forward. Obviously with it being a vudu shop and dealing with the things it does the employees as well as the people who frequent the place are rather strange or eccentric people. I think that Dark would be perfect for the position because she is a very large mix of both.

 

IDEAS:I would try to encourage with advertising or at least getting out to RP with my staff about bringing in new people into the Vudu. I would hope that the block parties or barbeques would at least attract some attention to get them to come along to take a look and meet new people. With my character, obviously family had run it but she was also attracted to the shop because of the resources it carried that she was able to use. Providing people neutral ground to be able to come and brush shoulders with the bad characters as well as good characters will allow them to weave a story line which is reliable enough to take their character in whatever direction they would like. It is also a place to buy cheap objects and drugs giving people the ability to continue to RP not having much cash, or even the opportunity to begin working there to earn themselves some cash. As I would encourage good as well as bad characters to apply for jobs there, allowing them to rub shoulders with whoever or whatever takes their fancy.

 

OTHER:I would think about getting in touch with people from the newspaper as well as also including local businesses to come and arrange a backyard barbeque for the shop, most likely spilling out as an impromptu block party to allow everyone to come and get acquainted with Dark and other members of the Vudu team. Have people from the local radio advertise and possibly play must, and allow the inevitable chaos ensue as it always seems to with these events. Leaving it to be a great summer event which will acquaint people with the wide range of things the Vudu is capable of and the general strangeness of its employees and friends. We could collaborate with businesses IC/OOC for future story lines and give aways to attract themselves business from it as well.
