audrina-tolsensaidClam Convenience By Maisy Warwillow TYPE: Official SLURL: BACKGROUND: A positive, fun, and interactive direction with a strong, competent individual in the role of manager. Regular events: 100th customer gift give-aways (ic only); clearance sales to liquidate nearly expired merchandise; tickets given for holiday meal raffles (win a turkey for Thanksgiving, ham for Christmas, etc); food drive for the needy; Drugs/Guns For Groceries - run an event with the PD to allow contraband to be turned in without recourse for a grocery voucher; just to name a few. Making new employees feel included: I am one to lead by example, always willing to aid a player develop their character and storylines or being of help however able and necessary. I would make sure to meet with each new (and current) player ICly - welcoming them (ICly and OOCly) to build rapport and pride in their role at the Clam and in Hathian. Working to gain their confidence and loyalty to invest ideas and time into helping the rp at the Clam grow. Roisin Mulloy is a well educated young woman whom was dealt a hard blow over her father's snafu. Two years shy of becoming a lawyer, her mother dead, and father the equivalent of being dead - she set out to start her own life. Up, down, or sideways she's a go-getter, a good woman, and would fit in well by making the store and employees her family, extending that outwards to Hathian as a whole as Roisin blooms. UNIQUE: A sampling of ideas I have: * Gain extra funds from the local government to support the Clam in offering jobs to parolees; * Offering fresh sandwiches and baked goods for sale by setting up contracts with the local shops; * Being known as the shop with a heart, low on cash? Need milk? Roisin will float it; * Offering grocery deliveries for those who need it by making contracts with the taxi company (if no employees are available); * Offering employees up to $2,000 (ICly)towards bettering their education to attend classes at the college; * Finding ways to reach out into the community to promote cross-rp with other businesses, entities, and individual players. EXPERIENCE: While I know I am new here, I am not new to SL, roleplay, nor to running groups of various scale. I have been in other Gorean and Urbans sims since arriving in SL, and in each place I have made home, it has come to pass I have successfully held leadership positions. Most recently I owned/ran Amhas Cairn for 12 months; the top #1 Torvaldsland sim for the entirety of its run, with over 250 active members and constant sim-wide/inter-sim-wide RPs running. I have solid people and rp skills; I know the importance of working well with the upper echelon, keeping open communication, and maintaining a positive attitude; I know how to organize, motivate, and get a group on board to make ideas come to fruition. IDEAS:I would reach out to all players (even the established ones to find out who are/are not active) and start getting feedback/input into how it could be more fun for them. New employees I will greet them OOCly as well as ICly; get to know their character as well as the player to find out what their strengths/interests are and play to each one individually. It is too hard to make a blanket statement of what I will do outside of this: I will give my all to each and every player who comes to the Clam to work; no balls will be dropped - dead weight will be pruned and active, ambitious RPers rewarded. OTHER:Another tough one! What can I do? If able - I would love to revamp the interior textures to something a bit more upbeat and perhaps a new sign (won't ask to change the name!). Sure we are storm-ravaged still by Katrina, but we are moving on up. A fresh coat of paint could do a world of good and is not that expensive. I would try to make it more aesthetically pleasing and less prone to crime by moving the ice bin between window frame and bathroom door frame with the bathroom placard raised up over it. The bench moved down between the clerk and store window. (Blocking windows means harder time for cops to see what's going on!) I would like to fix up the back stock/office/employee room with a few prims. I would ICly install a security system and perhaps even hire security for the store. I would hold a grand re-opening event with a chance to win free groceries and maybe some other goods that other businesses might like to donate to get their names out as well. Free movie tickets? $10 off their next Chinese food take out? $5.00 off a pizza. The possibilities are endless! |
