Slim Goodies Diner

BACKGROUND: My character worked at the diner when she first came to Hathian and met a lot of great people and started many stories there and I'd love to get people going to the diner again for RP. I'd like to start promoting the diners location as a positive. It is a little out of the way so can get less activity than other places but that is also a benefit so is the perfect meeting place for those 'quiet' conversations. Located near to the beach is an ideal spot to start having events which should draw more people to that area of the sim. There seems to be a growing taste for human flesh in certain areas of Hathian and Karen is Icly well aware of this so would be looking to start a specials menu with suspect meat that she would start rumours anonymously that lets the right people know this is available. Sourcing this meat with add another RP angle as Karen already has a variety of people who she would hopefully be able to convince to be her supplier. Karen co-manages Sheltered Hearts Homeless Shelter and would be trying to strengthen the link between the diner and the shelter, actively trying to encourage those without money and a home to work at the shelter and offering initiatives to the shelter to encourage their residents to work at the diner. I would be setting up meetings with all new hires to meet and build those relationships in character. I'd like to create a little bit of a community feel between staff so staff meetings where possible. Staff events etc to bring everybody together. A regular staff email would be sent out updating staff on progress at the diner and give them things to use in RP whilst working. Karen would be an active manager and would put her time in to working along with everybody else and would be trying to build up a community if staff and regular diners. There is a clear criminal element to her character which could provide an interesting twist to her relationship with both those who eat at the diner and those who work there espeically as loyalty is something she holds in very high regard.

UNIQUE: Hopefully by encouraging an active employee list who can build their own stories surrounding the diner. I'd be doing this by being active in the diner and providing plot points for use via the employee news email.

EXPERIENCE: I've roleplayed off and on in CD for 7 to 8 years now from the civilian side and the criminal side with various characters so I have a good knowledge of the themes and types of stories that work well in CD. I've been helping to manage Sheltered Hearts since the beginning and this private business is doing well with a great management structure in place and a lot of roleplay happening there. I'd be looking to replicate this success in the Diner.

IDEAS: I'd be spreading the word that the diner is a great place to work and visit. As mentioned earlier I'd like to strengthen links between the diner and the shelter. We get a lot of new people to the sim at the shelter so I'd be engaging with them early on to let them know where the diner was and what it can offer. Those who sign up for work would be contacted directly to arrange an IC meeting so that all staff know and can roleplay or contact the manager of the Diner with any issues they may have.

OTHER: I would be trying to arrange a weekend long event once we had some active staff. Discount vouchers would be distributed to businesses to give out to customers for discounts for the entire weekend. The event would then have a breakfast event one day and an afternoon event the next where people could sample to menu and there would be a charity element for fundraising for the shelter.
