GROUP NAME: Shotgun Cigar Lounge
TYPE: Cigar Lounge
SLURL: Teleport
BACKSTORY: Shotgun Cigar Lounge is a 1940s inspired cigar lounge and cocktail bar out in Black Bottom. Complete with the old-timey feel, while you're enjoying your drink or your cigar, you may even get to see a little burlesque show. The founders, Lena Millet and Skye Weaver, came up with the idea from being disappointed by the lack of dignified establishments in Hathian. Millet and Weaver would like to bring a since of class and sophistication into Hathian for people of the same manner can mingle and relax. Shotgun Cigar Lounge is a place for cigar enthusiasts and the cocktail elitists to feel at home. The bar will always be stocked with the finest spirits and wines by Hathian's very own Bottom's Up, not to mention a magnificent collection of tobacco and cigars. Being partnered with Bottom's Up means that Shotgun Cigar Lounge will always have a supply of moonshine. Weekends are dedicated to more lively events such as burlesque shows, live music, amateur night, and free wine and cigar tastings.
UNIQUE: Our business will stand apart from other establishments in Hathian because it is more than just a bar, or just a place with adult entertainment. Shotgun Cigar Lounge will have things to do for the not yet legal CDers. The 18-20 year olds can partake in cigar tastings and trying different tobaccos and still have a good time and mingle without feeling like they are missing out on a lot. I think the cigar lounge will focus more on bringing people out to try new things and have a change in environment...also bringing more traffic to Black Bottom. Shotgun Cigar Lounge has a 1940s feel to it and nothing in Hathian is like it. We have strict uniforms to keep the authenticity of the bar. Our adult entertainment aren't the typical strippers. We don't have any dance poles. Our entertainers are burlesque dancers, our dancers won't strip all the way down naked, they will still have some modesty to them, leaving something to the imagination, and still upholding class as we would want them to. We think leaving some mystery to our ladies is what will be sexy.
EXP: So far in CD I have had two leadership roles. My first role was in CU's MAD sorority and I was social chair. I planned a ton of events and parties for the sorority and for the community to come out and enjoy. Also, if our President planned an event I was right there helping it go smoothly. Being social chair helped me realize what a great responsibility it is to plan events and hopefully allow the community have fun. My second leadership role, I created the CU Drama Club, which has now been disbanded. Skye Weaver is part of the HPD and was a Corporal, helping train Rookies. Skye is now a detective so she has moved up which proves that she keeps up activity within the community. Skye and I have put a lot of thought into this business, and we feel like for a lot of people, this is a place where they would like to hang out. I have been in CD for almost three years and in SL for four years, and Skye has been in CD for six months and in SL for almost four years.
IDEAS: We would love to get the community involved in something new instead of always doing the same things, or going to the same sort of events. Amateur night will allow CDers to get involved with fun, interesting, and entertaining rp; showcasing a secret talent or one that is known. We'd like to do Burlesque dance classes and drink mixing classes once in a while, giving other role-players a chance to take on leadership roles. The staff will have a chance to voice new ideas freely, and through role-play even get their created cocktail on the menu. Throwing big events will help get other new and old businesses involved with the role-play we hope to have at Shotgun Cigar Lounge.
OTHER:Skye and I have put a lot of thought into this business, and we feel like for a lot of people, this is a place where they would like to hang out. OOC some players might have a love for cigars or burlesque and decide that this is a place they would like their characters to be. We are open to so many ideas and suggestions that our future staff might have regarding uniforms, events, or other things that would benefit Shotgun and CD as a whole.
