BACKSTORY: Inara grew up learning how to paint from her adoptive father in China. She didn't go to public school, she didn't have friends her age. Pretty much, she just painted. So she's good. At the encouragement of her friends, she's decided to let the public see her art, and, for the right price, she will sell some of her paintings. She's rented a warehouse, fixed it up, and is working on getting the proper licenses and insurance to open a real gallery. The upper 'employees only' floor will also serve as a hangout for her and her friends.

UNIQUE: This is a private 'open when I feel like it or by appointment only' sort of gallery. It will have no NPC employees, save for a security guard. It is not a 'shop' so much as a gallery, but paintings will be sold if the price is right. The security of the building is provided ICly by Blackriver Security, and includes monitored exterior cameras, interior sensors around the windows, and combination and key-required vault. This was installed by the security company under the premise of being a storage area for paintings. But it may also serve to house stolen goods or other stuff from time to time, when her and her friends have been up to no good.

EXP:I've been RPing in CD for the better half of a year. I've been involved in a number of other IC businesses, and I was a part of the Ling-Chi gang trial, which most of the members will eventually regroup enough to propose a new gang on the forums. In general, I've been RPing for over a decade, in text-based worlds and in second life. I am not a drama queen. I have a clear line between IC and OOC, and have plenty of experience guiding others to do the same.

IDEAS:She hopes to hold charity events on the premises to benefit charities near and dear to her heart. These will be more classy events to cater to a more affluent crowd, giving people who aren't just here to RP victimizing or being victimized an outlet for RP, and a way to meet others of a similar mind.

OTHER:In the gallery building, I have dozens of paintings that Inara has 'painted' during her time in Hathian. Each painting has a story behind it. I haven't just found nifty graphics I like online and slapped them on the walls. I've found paintings in similar styles and subject to memories, dreams and ideas Inara has had ICly. I've manipulated the art in photoshop, sometimes combining several into one so the subject matter is right for what was on Inara's mind. These paintings can be 'sold' (only RP money) and taken home by buyers to hang on their own walls. Each is original. If someone buys it ICly, I'll take it off the gallery wall and it will never be seen again (well except for prints, if Inara has had high quality photos taken). Aside from those details, there is the option to expand. If other IC artists want to join up with Inara, she would consider housing their work in a similar manner. She might propose artist-only get-togethers, where artistic characters can bond with others.
