BACKGROUND: Shaft Gators is an exclusively male strip club located in Vodou, right on the sim border behind Rader Records; owned and operated by Lana Auster in cooperation with her silent partner; Hazel DuBois. Lana believes that Hathian is a town where women have all the power; they lead the gangs, they run the businesses... so why should they not be catered to? Shaft Gators will almost exclusively cater to the female client by featuring male dancers with a few exceptions. Lana is a bisexual who prefers women; her business partner Hazel is a bisexual, frequent cross-dresser and both feel that the LGBT community is vastly underrepresented in the South. For that reason, every week we will have 'Gay Pride Monday' where gay or bisexual male dancers will perform for the entertainment of gay or bisexual men. In continuing with silent support for the LGBT community, every Wednesday will be 'Hump Day Switch' where women, cross-dressers and transgendered will take the stage for the benefit of any who wish to participate. This opens the door for stereotypically Southern 'hospitality' in the form of homophobic hate crimes and gay-bashing for those who want to cause trouble! Like most business in Hathian, Shaft Gators has it's shady side. Depending on the whims of the individual dancers it will double as a brothel for women (or men...) to come and find a little company for the night. There is a VIP room upstairs devoted to this purpose. Also, every Friday of the week we will host bachelor auctions where people can come and bid for a date with their favorite gator. While sex is not guaranteed, it is certainly implied - but again, that will be left up to each individual dancer. In addition to featuring male strippers and adult entertainment - Shaft Gators also boasts a full bar and a gambling area upstairs for high-stakes poker games. While everyone is always welcome to RP, we intend to host organized and publicized poker events a few times per year. By and large, Shaft Gators will self-operate as almost every business in Hathian does. After its grand opening, we will be open 24/7 for anyone and everyone who wishes to RP there except in rare IC circumstances (such as if there is a fire, natural disaster or other calamity). We intend for Shaft Gators to be very present and active as another venue for people to come and enhance their RP and will be active with the newspaper, forums and frequent events. We are planning a Grand Opening event for sometime in September, exact date to be determined. After that it is our plan to host an organized event at least six times per year. So far, we have 3 dancers already actively RPing and are offering positions for bartenders, security, servers and maintenance staff. Naturally we do not want to micro-manage too much and are welcoming everyone to participate who expresses an interest in joining in on the fun!

EXPERIENCE:While Hathian already has a strip club, rarely do I ever seen any men taking the stage there. We thought it would be fun to have a place where the women of Hathian could come and open another avenue of RP development to everyone in Hathian. Mostly we just want to contribute to Hathian's diversity and opportunity for fun, adult RP. Both Lana and Hazel are OOCly long-time members of CD, active in Alterscape Staff and experienced roleplayers with deep ties to the community.
