clio clarysaidLou's By Lozza Weymann

BACKGROUND: First and foremost, Lou's is a neutral establishment. It is open to every walk of life, no matter the affiliation or background. It is neutral territory. If that is still not clear, everyone is welcome and any grief with another faction/gang is left at the door. It remains, as it always has, 21+ to drink, if that is not already obvious! Lou's offers a place of sanctuary for all drinkers alike, and will remain in that aspect. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, random brawls in the bar generates role-play for many characters, there is nothing against this, but it is to remain neutral and it’s employees will do what it takes to protect the workplace. What appears to have been missing in the recent past is events. With the new ownership, there are plans to have one once a month, whether it be in the community sponsoring other events or held in house for everyone to enjoy. (There are already ideas in play, and this will be briefly be discussed below, but I can’t give out all my secrets!) Lou's is open to others in that avenue. Should anyone have interests of Lou's sponsoring, or providing beverages at an event, all they'd need to do is make it known. As long as there is an advanced notice, there shouldn't be any problem. I intend of making use of the concept of SIM WIDE events, whether that is getting the lot of local business involved in one themed event, or having something progress over time to create a storyline for others. Some ideas that have already been thought of; weekly specials and coordinating with the local radio station, (insert name here) to broadcast these specials and monthly events. Some weekly interactions consist of; drink specials, pool league nights, random raffle drawings, trivia nights, arm wrestling, etc. These weekly specials do not have to be planned, and can be random from any employee. Such monthly events could consist of; Coyote Ugly Night, Pub Crawl, A Concert on the Patio, anything pertaining to that months holiday, etc. Such Sim Wide events could consist of; Poisoned bottles of liquor, Missing Employees (which could coordinate with a faction/gang or a single person), Block Parties, Scavenger Hunt, Bar to Bar conflict, etc. The lists goes on with ideas for weekly, monthly, and sim-wide. The point is, I would like to provide active role-play to those around. In order to make new employees feel included, I feel that with my experience working there and as Assistant Manager, I’ve made sure that every employee that has crossed my path was given a friendly welcome, not only IC’ly but OOCly as well. With the fact that Lou’s is known for it’s sporadic brawls, or because it is known as neutral there is a lot to cover in order to make sure that when a person starts as a new employee, they understand that this here is “their” bar, as well. It is to be treated as if it is your second home, and some times we work so much that it becomes our home, and we have a cot in the basement just for those dedicated workers! I would love to be able to give everyone an entrance interview, but would be lying if I said I could give everyone this, as timezones often get in the way. I would ensure that if it wasn’t myself greeting them, it was one of the assistant managers, or a long standing employee that could assist them in knowledgeable information. In order to keep everyone on the same page, especially with events or specials, there would be a monthly meeting to discuss and elaborate on any questions anyone might have. I would also like to put a suggestion/idea box down in the office so that employees are able to make suggestions or give ideas for upcoming events. Every employee’s opinion matters. Loz/Myself care about how people feel accepted in a place, because I know how hard it is to come into a place/sim and have to start fresh. It is difficult, and I would do my best to ensure that those new employees felt like part of the Lou’s family. Lou’s is open to everyone to become involved, even if your time does not allow a full-time position, it accepts part-time as well. Loz is much like myself when it comes to devotion. When she commits herself to something, she is in it for the long run. I’ve showed my dedication to the bar over the years of being in Hathian, and with being assistant manager, I feel that I have always been capable of so much more, Loz too. I know that with Loz’s social skills within the Hathian community, she can manage this business so that it continues to thrive in CD.
UNIQUE: Lou’s on it’s own stands out from the others. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Lou’s is and will remain to be one of the biggest HUBs for new and old players alike in Hathian, CD. With it being on the main strip of the main sim, it strives to stay open and needs a management that is dedicated to continue that success rate. I feel comfortable taking on that role, and allowing Lou’s to remain as it’s always been in the community. There is often excitement that lives in the bar, but one can also catch it on a steady night and just relax. This is what I enjoy about Lou’s, it’s dynamic.
EXPERIENCE:I've always enjoyed planning, or assisting with, events within the Hathian community. This is where I feel one of my strengths lie. I have been successful in coordinating events for CD, and prior SIMS before it. It was a part of Loz's story to own a bar & grill, and had while RPing on another SIM. I thoroughly enjoyed writing her storyline that coincided with owning a business. An event idea that some may remember was the Poker Run, it was very successful and with others dedicated help, the idea was lifted and played out so well. The experience that Loz has IC'ly consist of the following: She has not only owned businesses in her storyline, but she has been lead management of others. Like this business, her experiences have been dealing with customer service types; ie: bar, cleaning service, garage. OOC'ly I have been a bar lead supervisor, as well as an Ast. Manager, both customer service related. I know what it takes to listen to others, while setting strict rules in order to keep a good group of people together. I have also been roleplaying for ten years, and though I don’t always feel that role-play comes with experience alone, I too believe it comes with patience.
IDEAS:I’m always open to new players, as I have always been. I embarrass the idea new role-play ideas/storylines, and trying to assist others where they have doubts, questions, or concerns. I tried to offer new players and/or new employees the benefit of the doubt. I feel like, at times, not everyone is given the patience that they need to evolve into the role they were meant to play. It doesn’t happen over night, and not everyone is as accepting to new faces because of numerous reasons. One of which could be their ability to para-roleplay. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people, and getting to know others in and out of character. Ensuring an open communication is key. If I show that I am listening, then you are listening.
OTHER:A grand re-opening event is important for any business. It sets the pace of whats to come, and just like with any one person, first impressions are important. With that being said, if this proposal moves forward I would like to do an outside event. For the event I would like to open up the back patio to the street and have a free BBQ, and raffles and a 50/50 drawing for attending patrons, as well as, drink specials! (Patrons will purchase a ticket, at random (or by choosing a random number that has already been pre-approved), a number will be drawn and if they hold the number; 50% goes to the person and the other goes to a charity or the city. Even though we all like to be generous, we like to have fun as well! Correct?) I think to add to the idea of a block party, I would be interested in working with local musicians to either have an open mic, or a band to preform during the event. This grand re-opening is to spot-light Lou’s, and as excited as I am to have other businesses join later events, this one would be a night for Lou’s.
