esperanza-hernandozsaidName: Nailed it! TYPE: Official BACKGROUND: We all know how well the hardware store fits into CD's everyday RP, so, as for the business in itself I thought about "dividing" the business into two parts: First, the small shop selling hardware to anyone who wishes to buy materials to do the jobs themselves. The second, which I really think plays a very good part in RP, would actually be the part where the business makes more money, that is by selling its services into fixing stuff around town. We all know how gang wars, a simple drunk at a bar, or even a domestic dispute leads into a broken window, a door kicked in, maybe even some bullets on a wall, or blood all over the floor. And this also generates an "extra fee", because legally the shop would have to participate such things to the police, but the right ammount of money would surely keep the store "quiet" so to speak.... UNIQUE: The business itself stands out just for the fact that everyone around CD needs to NPC getting things fixed, or NPC buying some nails to put up that frame up on the wall or simply to make that baseball bat a tad more lethal... Therefore, this business stands out from the others just by being different, not better, not worse, just different. One advantage towards other businesses however: If someone decides to raid the businesses around town, they all would end up buying materials or services from the Nailed it! Hardware store. By the way, I would like to add that the name of the business came from phillip aubin when Espi created a thread where she asked for ideas for a name. I took all the names into consideration and given this is an official business in Hathian I liked the idea of letting citizens pick its name 🙂 EXPERIENCE:First and most important, to some of you that already know me, I used to be the leader of the Liquor Store in Hathian, that didn't work out and here I'll take the chance to explain why. Basically, given the liquor store wasn't an official business I had to pay to keep it running in Hathian, and that was the one and only problem. I couldn't afford to keep it running due to RL reasons. But, as experience goes, I've been RPing in CD for quite some time now, I know how the city "works" and that is always an advantage towards this kind of business. Personally, being a Reaper, has its pros and cons. Pros, being that Tony knows his way around the criminal side of things and knows very well how to keep a business running if some of his contacts are criminals. Cons, some other gangs or civilians might see Tony working there as a threat, or assuming the business belongs to the Reapers, which it doesn't. ICly, it's just another way for Tony to make his own money, and personally the man knows his way around the hardware business. IDEAS:First and most important, anyone, obviously, would be welcome to work for the business, but ICly, you're either good at fixing things and know your way around this sort of business or Tony would, without a doubt, reconsider how useful you are. But, RP is everything and if someone doesn't know much about hardware and construction and what-not, Tony, if he likes you, might actually teach someone how to work in this business. OTHER:As every business around the world does, a grand opening always comes with some big-ass discounts to get everyones attention. That big sign that says "Opening December 1st (for example), 50% discounts on your hardware needs". Basically, using any marketing strategy I get my hands on, newspapers, radio, signs, some pamphlets around. |
