PROPOSAL BY: Damean Resident
GROUP NAME: Confederate Lounge
TYPE: Smokers Lounge - Illegal gambling
SLURL: Teleport
BACKSTORY: I have been thinking and discussing with a few people on what CD doesn't have. The illegal gambling idea came around but what to use as a front that could be both beneficial and an interesting place for people to go. That is when the smokers lounge came into play. On the first floor of the business it will be an imported tobacco shop. Finest cigars even to those sweet illegal Cuban smokes we all love. It will mostly be a more upper class (as upper class as CD can get) smokers lounge. Maybe with a bit of a speak easy persona going on. Flapper girls could be implemented, walking around with trays of smokes and lighters for the patrons. As well as serving top shelf Bourbon, Scotch and Brandy. The overall agenda for this business is to give a place for the criminal minds to have places to meet, gambling their stolen money away and for those who are looking for a bit of class in their life. forget those stale cigarettes and cigars from the calm. Step on into the humidifier and smell that perfectly dried tobacco leaf. Al Capone would be so proud.
UNIQUE: How does this establishment stand apart from the others located in Hathian and surrounding areas? Not only is the thrill and rush of an unsanctioned gambling hotspot located within the upper levels of the building, the name really does put forward the passion and moralistic standards that Juggs carries proudly. The Confederate Lounge is intended to placate the need for racial tension in the area, being one of the rare publicly and fully 'southern' establishments. This is not to cause a large rift in the population, but to possibly accentuate the fact that it is a part of modern day life and realism. It also does not reflect on anyone out of character and their beliefs. Could this be a place for CSA diehards to meet? A confederate flag posted on the back wall of a meeting room and around the shop itself? ...those white hoods tumble drying at the local laundry mat don't look overly appealing. The shop itself would be classy, yet fitting of Hathian's generally run down appearance, offering fine tobaccos and cigars.
EXP:I tend to enjoy making RP for everyone around me. I love bringing in new ideas and how to keep RP from going stale. IC conflict is what drives me. Everyone loves a bit of chaos and my character in turn enjoys bringing it. I hope to see this business grow, not just play it till the rent runs out and move on.
IDEAS:I am not overly sure how -new- the gambling idea is but it is more like a speak easy, unsanctioned gambling. The business could go in par with other local business, a high roller wants the event catered...invest in the bake shop...diner. Men and women looking to catch them a rich man/woman can get a job there...flirt there way into their pocket. There could be high stakes night..where the most twisted things are on the pot like a kidnap victim..gambling for their life or safe return home. To having men or women's cigar night. Even Charity events for the lung cancer association - get the irony? OOC: I would hope it is a place for many new to old to come together and have a place they can either relax in have some fun and essentially have a place to grow their RP or a place start another strand of it.
OTHER:Only other thing I can state is that I have talked with a few people about the idea and even got some help in developing what I think may work within the Hathian environment. The 'racisim' that is portrayed in the name of the business to who may be mingling there is completely and I stress completely IC. It is just a conflict to add to the RP of a southern roleplay sim. No OOC racism will be tolerated when it comes to this business. We are all here to have fun and essentially play those taboo roles that we find here in this sim.
