Butcher Shop

By: Voltiel Rassir
Type: Official Business

BACKGROUND: As the manager of the butchery, I would try in involve absolutely anyone and everyone that walks through the shop during my time there, violent or non-violent, pleasant or rude. ICly, Voltiel will handle most interactions the same way--like a normal, average human being. Outwardly, things will be entirely pleasant. But within the shop and behind the walls where things are prepared, the butchery may not be run as cleanly as Voltiel puts it off to be. Tampered meats fruitful with E. coli, roadkill and even human meat may be presented to unaware victims. Staff would either be very aware that things are at times askew, or they may be completely consenting to such shenanigans. It'd be sort of a mystery where their meat is coming from or how long it's been in the store. The direction I'd like to take the butcher shop is is fairly simple. Voltiel would use it as a place to get away from her every-day life, which is very dark, violent and hectic. Other criminals or normal civilians may find solace in working there, and working with meat--which, preparing meat can be very cathartic! Her time spent around people in the butchery, both customers and fellow employees, would be fairly neutral unless threats were posed. If a criminal walks in and robs the place, there will definitely be consequence. Otherwise, Voltiel will be in and out of the place like a ghost at times, only tending to what needs to be done and training staff to properly execute daily do's and don't's. The way she treats them will not be outwardly corrupt, rather the way the food is prepared. As for drifting in like a ghost, that doesn't necessarily mean she wont be present. Rather that her presence would come and go. She has many secrets to hide and will be reserved about them. She'll be reserved but heavy handed in managing a business. Violence is something she knows very intimately, but she'll do her best to keep it away from customers and staff. Regular events would include small cooking competitions. Maybe barbecuing with a line of judges to taste-test the food. Picnics and catering to other events may happen as well. The types of events I'd like to host have the capability of giving people a bit of something to add to their every-day role-play. If half the people at an event fall ill to a batch of bad hamburgers and the other half doesn't, there's room for suspicion on whether or not the uncleanliness is intentional or a mistake. The flaw of potentially dangerous food may keep people coming to the shop or drive them away ICly, but I think the dynamic could be interesting either way.

UNIQUE: How would I make the business stand out from the others? The fact that the food is questionable, like the Gein, only there is blatant proof of tampering. Can you tell the difference between beef and pork? Or pork and chicken? Chicken or the cat you saw laying in the gutter yesterday? The idea of an event spreading foodborne illness hasn't been played out yet to my knowledge either. Having Voltiel-who has committed so many kidnappings-running a business? That may also a bit shocking!

EXPERIENCE: I, OOCly, have role-played with a ton of people over the last three years that I've been here. I have learned from mistakes that I've made in CD and admit to not being perfect. I am a patient person, forgive and forget very quickly and easily, try to be as passive and understanding as humanly possible given whatever dramatic situation may arise, AND I will agree to role-play with just about anyone. REGARDLESS of rp style, linguistic intelligence or experience in CD. New members and old members will be treated equally OOCly. I have had so many trial and error experiences in CD and feel that I'm STILL learning, but would like to learn beyond where I am now. And I'd like to try something like this because I feel that I'd grow quite a lot ICly and OOCly from a leading position. I have been the lead of factions elsewhere--primarily in the SL military, sci-fi sims that have been shut down for years now, and old urban sims.

IDEAS: Very openly. If someone has ideas for the business or an event, I wouldn't hesitate to consider it. I love new players and people who haven't gotten the full experience of role-playing in CD yet. There is so much to learn from one business, or one player. I'd hope to be a good example of a long-term player and would hopefully show them a good time and get them more involved with not just the business, but other people in the sim itself.

OTHER: For my grand opening I'd definitely push to have some sort of foodborne illness run through several of the people that come to the event. I'd like to have some sort of summer barbecue. I haven't planned too far ahead, though.
