Esmeralda SiamendessaidThe position of lead for the Pawn shop got more interest than I expected. Thank you to all who sent in their applications! Had to make a choice so we will have two proposals up for community review. Both have quite different ideas to them so, please, feel free to post your comments and questions. I will leave the two threads open for a week before making a decision. 24 hour Pawn shop By: Echo (Jutana Sneerwell) BACKGROUND: As a leader in running the Pawn, I'd really love to start seeing it stand on it's own feet as a place to go. Bars have their obvious draws, and the foster great community roleplay; with the right writers, and elbow grease, the Pawn Shop can do the exact same thing. How can the pawn shop stand on it's own feet, you ask? Weekly 'specials' to draw people in. Guaranteed buy-downs, high percentages on easy-to-steal items, a close kin-ship with the "Criminal Scum" that makes up the Crackden's vibrant street gangs. If given the opportunity; I would run the Pawn like a 'family'. New employees would have to prove themselves by bringing in new customers, or new goods. "Contacts" would be brought in to ensure that new phones and jewelry show up regularly and would be rewarded in under the table pay. Should this proposal be accepted, I plan on creating a character specifically for the role. Likely, someone related loosely from the previous owners moving in to take over the spot. For a period she would rely heavily on those who stick around; they would help model and form the new ethos and pathos for the Pawn and see a direct impact on future events. UNIQUE: The Pawn would be a hub for criminal activity; turning over stolen goods or getting a run down on who came in wearing something that looked pricey. My hope is to give those playing criminals a new creative outlet to function as 'naturally' as their characters might. The aspect of guns is also highly important. I'm unsure of the exact 'wiring' of CD's current armed citizen set up, and how much street cred is required; but I would like to offer player's Quests to go and vandalize, or steal in order to work up their street cred and in time provide them a weapon. This could bring a lot of fun roleplay, and breathe a fresh breath of air into gaining the armed citizen tag. EXPERIENCE: Midian City: MCCG Lead & Pack Medic Lead. Obscure Reality: Vampire-Faction Co-lead Westeros Landing: House Stark Lead // Hand of the King City of Perdition: Pawn Shop Owner / Designated Gun-Commodity Vendor RoIaF: Queen / Dowager Queen OutBreak: Pub Owner Convergence: Diner-Owner I've been just about everywhere at least once. I've been para-roleplaying in secondlife for almost eight years, and have experienced just about every genre one can imagine. What I enjoy most, is writing with others, and aiding in other's story formation and progression. While I'm not big on OOC chatter, I do my best to help any and everyone with questions that they may have. I greatly enjoy working with others towards a larger picture. IDEAS: As mentioned earlier, new hires will have to 'prove' themselves. They'll be given IC tasks to handle and evaluated on how they preform for IC bonuses. New players on sim will be a target, of sorts, for petty thefts or perhaps given a flier to a 'fire-sale' to draw them in. OTHER: Pawn Shop Annual Fire Sale; Everything for sale at Cost to clear inventory and make way for new items. During this event, interested parties would be able to apply for work directly with my character, or be given tasks to go gather some new stock. |
