Coming from a loving middle class family, Raven is well mannered, and treats everyone with respect, even if she has to fake it. She tries her best to put on a pleasant face even when she's annoyed with someone, avoiding confrontations and arguments as far as possible.

New to the city of Hathian, she is a freshman at Columtreal University. Why Columtreal? Because it was the only one she could afford to go to, and she didn't want to ask her parents for help with tuition.

She is ambitious and charismatic, but also a little naive. She wants to see the good in people - even when none exists - which sometimes puts her in less than ideal situations.

Being an only child her parents tried their best to prevent her from coming to Hathian, having heard about the stories and rumors about the city. But wanting to make something of herself and stand on her own feet she went against their wishes and came to Hathian anyway, looking to find success - both academic and financial.
