((Hiya, new student to CU, seeing if posting on forum fixes my Hud bug))
Barbara "Barbie Doll" Dollinger, 18, hailing from Los Angeles, carries a dark past. Pushed by a demanding stage mom who would whip her with wire coat hangers, Barbie landed a role in the daytime soap opera "Wild and the Wonderful" at age 8. There, she met her rival, Sindy Dole. As Sindy's role grew and Barbie's diminished, her mother's pressure led Barbie to violently attack Sindy with a hammer, resulting in Sindy's death from her injuries.
Convicted for the attack, Barbie spent her youth in Juvenile Detention until 18. After her release, she faced relentless harassment in Los Angeles, including people spraying "Remember Sindy Dole" on her car and crazed Sindy fans stalking her. An entire hate community exists online, where people publicly post how they would like to punish her for the crime she committed as a child. Seeking to escape her past, she relocated to Hathian. Despite her attempts to blend in, her California fashion and Valley girl drawl remain unmistakable.
Some people with long memories or those hailing from California might vividly recall the sensational 60 Minutes special, "Valley Of The Dolls: When Child Stars Kill. Barbie Doll vs. Sindy Doll." This highly dramatic and one-sided documentary delved into the tragic and scandalous tale, exclusively interviewing the victim's grieving family and friends, along with those present on set that fateful day. Adding to the drama, the program prominently featured Barbie's mother, who painted a damning portrait of her daughter as a tantrum-prone, uncontrollable child. In a shocking display of denial, she shirked any accountability for the abusive upbringing she imposed, including the cruel tortures she inflicted with wire hangers. Instead, she portrayed herself as a struggling single mom who reluctantly capitulated to Barbie's insistent desires for fame. The documentary's biased narrative fuelled the public's outrage, further cementing Barbie Dollinger's notoriety and tragic infamy. |
