Been hanging around a minute and even though I already did a short intro, I've been working more on Halo's backstory and I wanna try to be more active on the forums and discord since I won't be able to log in a ton after this week for a while. Thanks for reading!

Halo is from Belarus and quite proud of her heritage (as in, she'll probably spit on you if call her Russian). Her family was poor like most people in her rural village and while she always dreamed of more, Halo never shirked the hard work of village life. Her work ethic is nothing special by Belarusian standards but she's a fuckin' hustler in the US, dedicated to the grind. She loves money, and tacky displays of wealth, equating them with love and "classiness".

She was close with her father as a child, but when she was a young girl he took the heat for his brother's organized crime activities, and is in prison in Serbia. His brother, Halo's uncle Yvaylo (Yvo) dutifully provided for her and her mother until her mother married a Turkish plastic surgeon when Halo was 12, leaving her behind as her new husband's plans did not account for a child.

She always loved Uncle Yvo, completely unbothered by his hulking, tattooed, cauliflower-eared, scarred-up form, only admiring him and all the fabulous things his chaotic lifestyle afforded him. She makes no value judgement between legal and illegal sources of income, and understands that taking advantage of others is just a way of life even if she would give the shirt of her back to help a neighbor, friend or family. She also still believes (obviously from experience) that the scarier a man looks, the more she can trust him and models herself closely after the kinds of women who hung around her uncle and his friends.

When her mother left, Uncle Yvo sent her across the border to a school in Moscow, where she 'assimilated' into the extremely materialistic society of her more affluent 'peers' as a survival tactic, never feeling like she belonged and never really seeking to. People who were born into privilege are not of interest to Halo, but it was there she gradually started to fall into something of a 'sugar baby' lifestyle (sex work is work!).  In general, she's used to men paying for everything, but it's just cultural and she doesn't feel entitled to it. Really, she's always dreamed of having her own esthetics business, doing nails, hair and waxing in the front, illegal Botox and cheap filler in the back!

After graduating, she ended up traveling quite a bit as a companion to wealthy men, but then there was this whole kerfuff involving an Emirati 'businessman' that led Halo to flee with an assumed identity, signing on with an international au pair agency where she was placed with an American family in Florida. As a result of her time spent in UAE, she does understand a little Arabic, and has a small Arabic tattoo on her rib cage (her tattoos are sparse and almost all regretted). She's had no great loves, and no relationships that were not transactional in some way or another, though of course she's developed many a feeling and always regretted it (an infinitely repeatable lesson, of course).

Halo speaks English well because of her education, her extracurricular activities, and her love of American films (especially gangster/Mafia films). Arriving to her new host family was her first time actually in the US though, and things went...poorly. First they treated her like a slave, and then the father in her host family tried to cross the line with her, and when the mother got suspicious, he blamed it all on Halo and they kicked her to the curb. The shady au pair agency sent her to Hathian of all places, possibly intending to traffic her, but "luckily" she ended up at the Rub 'n Tug and was able to warm the singular Max Aumailley up to her quickly enough.

She's run into a little trouble here and there, but she's not one to complain, preferring to stuff any and all emotionally triggering events deep, deep down inside. Hope she doesn't run out of space! Recently she's been reunited with her estranged half-brother with whom she has a somewhat adversarial relationship, though in this city, she could use the closeness that only family can provide regardless of the...complications.
