Nadir TaovsaidWith all the changes coming around the Den, one of the most important one I've been working on with Perina has been ways to improve our ways of communicating with the community. We have several ways at the moment: 1) Group Notices I'm working on putting together some concepts and unifying a lot of what you see above. Since group notices in SL are essentially useless to those who are not online at the time they go out, we'll be focusing more on the newspaper as a method of communicating IC events. The newspaper is open to any member of CD who wants to promote his/her own business, stories that may impact the city, or simply write any article based on events going on. They can also just use it as a way to promote some creative editorials too. The great part about the newspaper is it's promoted in-world through the micronotices (updating it to cover more areas than just the hostel entrance) and our twitter account. The micronotice system is going to get an update when the official group rosters go out so we can empower leaders to spread "rumors" through the city. Finally, the key feature about this newspaper, besides the updated look and some cool widgets like live Hathian weather updates, is that commenting is going to be forum based. Everytime an article is published, a copy of that will be posted in the form of a thread here in this RP section of the forum. Any of your responses to that thread will also show up on the newspaper as a comment! The Observer will be getting a pretty cool front in the new sim and will also have some new features like instant registration to the web-based newspaper system by simply being a member of the news group in-world. For now, you'll have to do register manually ... see the "write now!" page there. Let me know how it looks and feel free to suggest sections for the newspaper. 🙂 |
