And I'm not sure if I'm the only one, so I'm just going to flaunt my pedantics.

I started role playing with someone a few weeks ago, who has unfortunately had to leave SL for a while. But while he was here he showed me something. Amazing. Something so profound and realistic and normal and that I think we should ALL do because I'm pushy that way.

It involves money, and tracking your in-come and out-go. I've started doing mine up since my main character died because I realised that yeah, it's all well and good for you to be left a million dollars, but that million doesn't last forever, especially if you have no job and have children and bills etc.

So What I''ve done is I've back tracked all my expenses and income, I haven't worried so much about dates, you might like to if you decide to take this on. But I've just written up how much money I have and how much goes out when and add/deducted it from my total.

One thing I will explain is my in-come via my job. Pretty much I just askedm y boss OOC< what's a rookies pay rate? How often do they get paid? What dya do they get paid on? I was more pushy than that actually, I didn't really wait for answers, I researched it and went "LOOK WHAT I BLOODY FOUND." But it worked and we came to an agreement of my wages. So like. You can ask your boss's OOC too. This is my "template" so far. Feel free to base yours money tracking on it. I know not everyone can be bothered with this kind of stuff. I just did it because I didn't want to keep thinking about the impending amount of tests I have next week.
