Just posting the bare bones summary that I've been using for group applications. 😀

Stirling Souther is born and bred Louisianan. His father was a senior officer in the New Orleans PD, a heavy gambler, and a single parent while he was raising Stirling, so the boy was brought up modestly.

His father's already meager paychecks disappeared almost instantly every month, lost to gambling debts and liquor; so cash and food were scarce in the Souther household. As his young boy grew to be older and more more expensive to take care of, Stirling's old man had to turn to more corrupt ways of going about his daily work, shaking down criminals and accepting bribes rather than making arrests and turning in collars..

It was enough to keep food on the table until Stirling was seventeen years old. That's when the complaints of 'unecessary use of force' and the like caught up to his father, and he was stripped of his job and sentenced to a good chunk of time in prison after a lengthy and publicized investigation into the extent of his and his departement's corruption.

As a result of his father's arrest, Stirling found himself homeless. Because he was a minor, Social Services was quick to snatch him up, and he ended up being sent to live with the mother he never knew at her home in the not too far off city of Hathian.

Though the new town seemed to be little more than one, giant slum, it was hardly a step down from his ward back in New Orleans.

Unfortunately he never did hit it off with his mother, or get the hang of living with her -he'll always be his "father's son"- so on his eighteenth birthday he up and moved out. He didn't go far; never actually moving out of Hathian city-limits, but he was on his own.

Anyways. Stirling's been here for nearly three years now, and he's starting to get the hang of the city. He's held a couple of minimum wage jobs, briefly, and is able to recognize the major gangs by color; though he goesn't affiliate with any of them.. He thinks of himself as a local and is considering applying to join the HPD..

I've already sent in an application to join the HPD. But I might have to wait a while to get accepted into that; my avatar's "birth date" is absurdly young, at the moment. I've actually got a few years roleplaying experience here in the Crack Den, though. I know how things work, my inventory is all set up, and I'm more than willing to get started being an active roleplayer again. Anyways. I hope I get accepted, and don't have to do and redo the police application to get it. 😮 Maybe see you guys around soon.
