clio clarysaidFACTION NAME: Kogarashi
LEADER NAME: Tori Yamato (Hitori Skyther)
MEMBERS: Takeshi Adachi (Stryvk Kroitchov), Chasity Dawes
Overview: Most of the recent gangs in the city seem to be focused on some form of organized crime or supporting some kind of franchise, such as drug dealing or prostitution. The idea for this gang is to be more disorganized street. Based loosely on some of the Japanese street gangs that focus on deviance and delinquency, like the Yankii, so that they differ from the Yakuza type gangs of organized crime syndicates. One thing I have noticed lacking in Hathian are gangs based on trickery and guile instead of brute strength or large numbers who focus on victimization through pure violent actions. A gang that would use the city as a playground for adrenaline focused acts or for elaborate games. Members are meant to be more disorganized and individualized, but still banding together to make a more elaborate game with the city as its chess board. Car theft, street racing, parkour, vandalism, petty theft, pranks. The Kogarashi was formed as a call for a change to the balanced structure in Hathian. Hathian has its hierarchy of gangs, cops and citizens. Each have a role and a position that they are either content with or have grown accustomed to. The Kogarashi exists to work outside of those norms, whether those norms are created by the other gangs or the police. The HPD aren’t too strong, but are too organized and act as a barrier against the goals of unsupported individuals. The other gangs in the city squabble over their businesses and their money, while presenting a threat to those outside their protected circles. Hathian isn’t a kingdom to be ruled by one entity, but a playground for all types of players. The Kogarashi simply seek to be the game masters.
Front: Right now I am currently the lead of Hathian Motors and have been going at it for close to two years! One of the things that has been completely unique to my running of HM has been the car thefts for street races, which we just hosted using cop cars stolen from the HPD. I would love to continue doing such acts with the gang. The street races are something completely fun to do and bring in all sorts of different players in who want to compete. Though I also know the value of keeping the business part of HM separate from the gang, but I only see this as a great collab RP and the potential for more traffic at HM.
Flaw: The founding members of the gang are guilty of a deep arrogance and pride. They see things their own way and make no apologies for it, despite that it gets them into trouble. They also each come with their own list of enemies already due to their past actions which have a blatant disregard for the law. This type of attitude will likely get them into more trouble the more the gang progresses, but will also open us up to more RP with those seeking to exploit such weaknesses.
Involvement: The Kogarashi will be acting as counterpart to gangs that focus more on organized crimes. They are not in this for large monetary gain or profit from trafficking, so they aren’t motivated by the same things other gangs are. BUT! This does not mean they won’t try to interfere with gangs who do have that sort of focus. Drug dealing, prostitution, racketeering and trafficking. The Kogarashi may not be interested in these things at face value, but they might dabble in it temporarily to take profit away from other gangs or introduce a game with the focus of disrupting deals or working with other gangs to take away business from a rival gang just for the hell of it. In doing things like this, I hope to have friendly and not so friendly contact with other gangs. Hopefully this will lead to both rivalries and short term collaboration.
HPD Collab: Yes, working with the HPD is key! I already do this with HM. Every action should have its consequences and I expect the members of this gang to respect that as well. We have already had a lot of interactions with the HPD in large RP scenes involve the members of the Kogarashi.
Experience: I have been involved with two other gangs in the time I have been in CD. One disbanded due to RL with the leader and the second one eventually moved on from CD. I have learned a lot about the OOC side of it and what is expected of gangs in CD. I have also been the OOC lead of Hathian Motors for nearly two years, working to keep RP going there even if it one of the less used businesses due to limitations with vehicles on sim. I also led a faction pre-CD in the sim I played at for four years before making CD my permanent sim. I love RP and I will work to bring more stories and events that will hopefully generate more storylines for those involved.
Engagement: The Kogarashi will not be shy about holding events to attract people in to come join in their games. Planned challenges and competitions will hopefully this will spark an interest with newer players and veteran players. We are also not afraid to approach individuals that catch our interest as potential associates. Whether it’s good or bad, the gang plans to engage with outsiders. |
