((I'm new to The Crack Den. So, I'm just now working on my character development; there are still plenty of holes. So, bear with me...but here's what I have so far...))
_____________________________________________________
Name: Milana Henley
Age: 24, DOB: 1/12/1985
Orientation: Straight
Status: Recently Separated
Ethnicity: Tri-racial, a mix of Caucasian, Mexican and African American
Hair: Black
Eyes: Slate
Height/Weight: 5’10’’, 155 lbs.
Scars: Physical and Emotional, she hides them well.

The brightness of a new day shone through the bleached-white kitchen blinds as her body lay limp, painted with bruises. His fist was the paintbrush and her body, his canvas. Milana didn’t want to bleed nor did she want to cry. But both blood and tears poured from his masterpiece, covering the cold, ceramic tile floor with vibrant hues of crimson and muted shades of brown. He kissed her battered cheek. He whispered that he loved her; she knew that he did. He knew of no other way to love. Milana learned that her body couldn’t handle how much he loved her.

The glow of the sun shone against her clinched eyelids and illuminated her open wounds. The hard, unforgiving floor felt softer than his touch. She lay motionless until she heard the door close. He was leaving to perform his daily ritual of over-the-car-window drug exchanges and back alley trades. She wouldn’t expect him to return until an hour after the bars closed. This would give her enough time to clean herself up, pack what she could carry and loot the funds that were stashed throughout their well-manicured home. They picked this house out together, “a location perfect for a new couple properly situated outside of the dangers of the streets and urban chaos of the city,” according to the realtor. Milana didn’t feel safe anymore.

She left with $241.58 contained in her wallet, a few things from the bathroom, a change of clothes and her diary. Milana couldn’t take her cell phone. It was in his name. So, she wrote down the phone numbers of a few friends and relatives. It would be a while before she could contact them. Milana feared that he would come after her. Letting those close to her know her whereabouts would only put them in danger, too. Her hope was that she’d find somewhere to lose herself, somewhere filled with nameless faces and hiding places.

Milana has recovered physically, but there are scars that run long and deep. She will repaint herself one brush stroke at time.

She doesn’t belong in The Crack Den, nor does she belong with a man that left bruises along her jaw line or pulled her across the kitchen tile by her hair. Milana learned how to leave him; she will learn quickly how to survive in The Crack Den.

She will not be easily broken.

Additional information:

Personality: Milana has always been naturally compassionate; many construe this as a weakness and define her as naïve. However, she doesn’t trust easily anymore. She refuses to let anyone hurt her again. For the first time in her life, she’s thinking of herself and her own survival. She’s constantly looking over her shoulder and watching her back, tipping the scales towards paranoia.

Childhood: She was 10 when her father was shot to death leaving work late one night. The motive was classified as a robbery. He only had $20.00 on him. Milana’s mother worked three jobs. She died of cancer when Milana was 15. That was the year Milana became an adult.

((I'm looking for anyone that would be interested in being a relative/friend that she has in The Crack Den, thus being one of the motivational factors for her to head there, other than trying to hide from her ex-husband. If you're interested and it fits with your character story, let me know. Thanks))
