Please review Dustin's proposal!

DATE: 05/05/11

PROPOSAL BY: Dustin Chestnut

GROUP NAME: CD Comiquities

TYPE: Comic/Hobby Shop

SLURL: Teleport

BACKSTORY: Comics are a niche business as is, especially in a place like Hathian. To that end, it is not a surprise to anyone if the former comic store in town, C & J Comiquities, was likely a front for something bigger. With new times brings new change, an attempt to make it without secretive business. While still bringing the town the best in new and old comics, the shop will have expanded to bring to more audiences, including DVDs and traditional gaming (along with "online sales" to make it live).

UNIQUE: While there is a business that caters to the so called geeks, no matter if they are nine or ninety, that they come come together at, for enjoyment of literary works, or imaginative fun in the ways of role playing games.

EXP:While I have never ran a roleplay group in either the Crack Den or Second Life, i have ran tabletop gaming campaigns for players for the past 3 years, so I do understand the need for everyone involved to enjoy the roleplay, and for it to flow. In regards to a comic/hobby shop, I've practically lived in them for the past 10 years on the weekends, holding unofficial positions at both of them.

IDEAS:The shop would be open to people running games inside the store ,for those whom might be interested. Be it something as widespread as Dungeons and Dragons, to little unknown games such as Everyone is John, all would be welcome. As far as comics go, events like Free Comic Book Day would also be represented, along with "sales" and such on a weekly basis that the workers would be encouraged to be promoted in their roleplay around the store.

OTHER:Currently, there is no head for the comic shop, and hardly anyone knows where we are actually located. the sign has helped, a lot, but having someone in charge would help get things rolling with it.
